GLASGOW —
Jason Walton Horton
CAVE CITY – Jason Walton Horton, 33, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in Cave City. A native of Barren County, he was a self-employed handyman.
He is survived by his children, Mason Walton Horton and Jayden Walton Horton; his father, Ernest W. Horton; his mother, Betty J. Logsdon (Jerry Ballard), all of Cave City; his brother, Christopher P. Horton, and wife Tonya Lynn, of Savoyard; one niece, Haylie Jo Horton; one nephew, Christopher Wayne Horton; maternal grandmother, Clorine Logsdon, of Horse Cave; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Echo Mission Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are by Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home.
Edward Jewell Morgan
CORAL HILL – Edward Jewell Morgan, 89, of Coral Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
Jewell was born April 27, 1923, in Barren County. He was the youngest of 13 children born to the late Wade and Nancy Elizabeth Morgan. Jewell spent most of his adult life as a farmer in the Coral Hill community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Genie Morgan, Powell Morgan, Eddie Morgan, Luther Morgan, Benny Morgan and Johnnie Morgan; four sisters, Kate Houchens, Lucille Groce, Mary Eubank and Elsie Mosby; and three siblings who died in infancy.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marie Morgan; one daughter, Gail Hardin, and her husband Danny, of Glasgow; one grandson, Doug Hardin, of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at A. F. Crow and Son Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.
Minnie P. Powers
HORSE CAVE – Minnie P. Powers, 70, of Horse Cave, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at her residence in Horse Cave. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Tom Wease and Robert Powers; and her parents Alija and Flora Mae Riggs.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church in Upton, with Rev. Phillip Sallee officiating. Burial was at Stoney Point Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Manakee Funeral Home in Upton.
Jamie Tapscott
HORSE CAVE – Jamie Tapscott, 28, of Horse Cave, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at her home. She was born in Glasgow. She is survived by her mother, Missy Jewell, of Horse Cave, and her father, Parry Tapscott, of Horse Cave.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday.
Larry Wayne Trowbridge
HARDYVILLE – Larry Wayne Trowbridge “BoBo,” 54, of Hardyville, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at his home. He was a son of the late Glen and Hazel Lillian Bain Trowbridge.
Larry’s request was to be cremated. No visitation or services are scheduled. Sego Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation.
