Mary Mildred Barton
HORSE CAVE – Mary Mildred Barton, 94, of Bethpage, Tenn., died Wednesday, July 4, 2012. She was born on Sept. 23, 1917, in Hardyville, to James William Meadows and Ida Forbis Meadows.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Willis Thurman Barton.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hiseville Cemetery under local direction of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave. Memorial service will be Saturday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin, Tenn.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the HighPoint Hospice team at Sumner Regional Hospital.
Vivian Iona Bryant
EDMONTON – Vivian Iona Bryant, 65, of Edmonton, died Thursday July 5, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late Roy and Nellie Whitlow Gassaway.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Bryant; one daughter, Lisa (Troy) Moss, of Edmonton; three grandchildren, Kyle Harbison, Jennifer Woosley, and Rebekah Moss; two great-grandchildren, Emma Woosley and Braxton Harbison, all of Edmonton; two brothers, J.W. Gassaway, of Burkesville, and Wallace Gassaway, of Summer Shade; three sisters, Barbara Glass, of Summer Shade, Laverne Watson, and Carolyn Fields, both of Edmonton.
Besides her parents, two brothers, Bobby and Eugene Gassaway, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Butler Funeral Home, in Edmonton, with burial in New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wanitta Perkins Carter
CANTONMENT, Fla. – Wanitta Perkins Carter, 87, of Cantonment, Fla., died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Baptist Manor in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born in Barren County, Ky., Dec. 30, 1924, to Hollis and Floye Matthews Perkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, William Robert Carter Sr., and son William Robert Carter Jr.
Survivors include her son, Matt (Arlene) Carter, of Cantonment, Fla.; and daughter, Beverly (Carl) Munir, of Canton, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lera Kingrey, of Etoile, Nina (Donald) Cordor, of Louisiana, Rose Mary (Wayne) McCoy, of Cave City, and Beth (Denny) Harper, of Glasgow.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home, with burial in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Will Cheatham
GLASGOW – Will Cheatham, 85, of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 5, 2012.
He was the son of the late Horace Cheatham and Easter Mae Collins Cheatham. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by one son, Jerry Cheatham (Cheryl); one daughter, Patricia Chapman (Jim); 11 grandchildren, Robert Jackson, Brandie Uehlin, Jesse Chapman, Michael Chapman, Jeremy Cheatham, Michael Cheatham, Luke Cheatham, Dewy Cheatham, Betty Lou Cheatham, Michael Fraleigh and Heather Herzog; six sisters, Louise Tarey, Evelyn Marcum, Bertha Williams, Linda Byrd, Mary Matthews and Joann McCoy; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, George Samuel Cheatham and Geraldine Cheatham; and two brothers, John Sam Cheatham and James Howard Cheatham.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Martha V. Likens
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Martha V. Likens, 73, a former Glasgow resident, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at Donelson Place Care Center in Nashville, where she had been a resident.
The Barren County native was the wife of the late Herbert A. Likens and was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Likens, and a brother, Will Watkins. She was retired from AT&T.
Survivors include a son, Terry A. Likens and wife Teresa, of Hermitage, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Cassandra, Megan and Chrystal; and two brothers, Elbert Houchens, of Louisville, and Donald Nunn, of Glasgow.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

BRANDENBURG — Wesley V. Wright, 83, of Brandenburg, formerly of Hart County, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Medco Center of Brandenburg in Brandenburg. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Main Street, Munfordville, where the family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday. Funeral services will be at Brooks Funeral Home, 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Timberlake Cemetery, Munfordville.
