GLASGOW — Edward Kyle Ballard

TOMPKINSVILLE – Edward Kyle Ballard, 76, of Tompkinsville, formerly of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at home.

Arrangements are incomplete, to be announced later by McMurtrey Funeral Home.



Delsia Marie Hogan

PARK CITY – Delsia Marie Hogan, 82, of Park City, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Bowling Green after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Metcalfe County to the late Henry V. and Bertha M. Shirley Wilson. She was the wife of the late Leo Edward Hogan.

She was the former owner of Cedar Hill Campground and Wondering Woods Village and secretary at Western Kentucky University and Commonwealth of Kentucky Department of Military Affairs. She was a member of Big Meadow Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Donnie L. Hogan, of Park City; one grandson, Brian M. Hogan, of Park City; one brother, Freemon Wilson (Joyce) of Athens, Ala.; two sisters, Jannoice Lewis and Shirley Wilson, both of Columbus, Ind.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Wilson; and one sister, Wyoma Wilson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Nita Mouser Melloan

HORSE CAVE – Nita Mouser Melloan, 85, of Horse Cave, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the home of her sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Melloan on June 20, 1985, and by her parents, Frank G. Mouser and Frances Stotts Mouser.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Winn Funeral Home from 1 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. until funeral time on Thursday.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Special Needs Ministry of the Cave City Christian Church.



Marilyn Lee Page

GLASGOW – Marilyn Lee Page, 63, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.  

She was the daughter of the late Orville Martin and Beatrice Hayes Martin. She was a long-time employee of George J’s Drug Store and a member of South Green Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Larry K. Page; her mother-in-law, Edith Page; her aunt, Lourene Hurt; several cousins, friends and family survive.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph, Ky. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW – Mary Akers, 83, of Haywood, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at her residence. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



GLASGOW – Charlotte Denning, 85, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Glenview Healthcare in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Order of the Eastern Rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and the public is welcome to attend. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to The Gideon’s.



GLASGOW – James Logan “Jim” Grider Jr., 54, of Griderville, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
