Robert Kay Riley
TOMPKINSVILLE — Robert “Bobby” Kay Riley, 57, of Tompkinsville, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
Bobby was born in Tompkinsville on Feb. 4, 1955, a son of the late Ina Jewell (Copas) and Orville Riley. He married Anita Barnes on April 9, 1976, in Tompkinsville at their home. He was a printing consultant for R.R. Donnelley and Son and was an avid hunter. He was also a member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Anita (Barnes) Riley; two sons, Dr. Shane Riley, of Harrisburg, Pa., and Kirk Page, of Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Teresa Botts, Sue Carter and Niko Capps, all of Tompkinsville; two brothers, Loyce Earl Welch, of Tompkinsville; and Jackie Riley, of Oak Grove,.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Danny Joe and Jason Bruce Riley.
Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Donations are suggested to the Athens Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
Thelma Emmert
TOMPKINSVILLE — Thelma Miller Emmert, 88, of Tompkinsville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, at Southern Kentucky Hospice, in Bowling Green.
Thelma was born in Tompkinsville on Dec. 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Vella (Bowman) and William McKinley Miller.
Thelma is survived by her son, Randall M. Emmert Jr. (Vicki), of Glasgow; two sisters, Carol Ramsey, of Glasgow, and Katherine Walden, of Tompkinsville; a brother, Isaac Miller, of Tompkinsville; and three grandchildren, Meredith, Nathan and Allison Emmert.
Thelma was a member of the Rock Bridge Baptist Church. She served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. She was a school teacher for 26 years and retired in 1982.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents a brother, Denton Miller; and a sister, Nelda Rand.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Yokley Trible Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 8, with Brother Gary Emberton officiating. Burial will be in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery with military services preformed by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20. Visitation is Monday, Jan. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 6 to11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kennith Bullock
BOWLING GREEN — Kennith Ray Bullock, 57, of Bowling Green, died Satuday, Jan. 5, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
He was the son of the late Berthel Bullock and Mary Katherine Hutchens Bullock and the husband of Brenda Bullock, who survives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Otter Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
