GLASGOW —  

Gloria T. ‘Bobbie’ Pell

SMITHS GROVE – Gloria T. “Bobbie” Pell, 87, of Smiths Grove, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

She was born in Beckley, W. Va., the daughter of John C. and Lela Hawley Mayne. She was a homemaker and a member of Alexandria Baptist Church in Virginia.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Richardson (William), of Smiths Grove, and Carolyn Susie Stewart, of Waco, Texas; a brother, Ron Mayne, of Georgia; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Pell, and a son, Larry Trollinger.

Mrs. Pell will be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

George T. Saltsman

GLASGOW – George T. Saltsman, 87, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

He was the son of the late William and Flora Harp Saltsman. George was born in Grayson County and moved to Barren County in 1936. He lived and worked most of his adult life in Louisville, then moved back to Glasgow after his retirement. He was a member of Big Meadow Baptist Church.

He is survived by four sisters, Callie Jeffries, of Glasgow, Dorine Reece, of Glasgow, Stella Gooden (Junior), of Bon Ayr, and Mona Pierce (Windell), of Taylorsville, Ind.; four brothers, Herman Saltsman (Betty), Hayden Saltsman and Roscoe Saltsman, all of Glasgow, and William Saltsman Jr. (Betty), of Columbus, Ind.; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Linnie Fields and Sylvie Saltsman, and three brothers, Coy, Roy and Sherman Saltsman.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Big Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William Finley Stewart

LOUISVILLE – William Finley Stewart, 71, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.

Bill was a United States Air force Vietnam veteran and retired from GE. He was a member of the ASA Softball Hall of Fame and was a USSSA charter member. He umpired softball for 42 years and refereed high school basketball for 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Stewart, and sister, Ersie Eubank.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Stewart Joseph (Michael); his companion of 20 years, Wanedith “Juanita” Gentry; and many nieces and nephews.

His graveside service was  11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Mount Washington.

Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.



Donnie (Donna) Louann Westmoreland

GLASGOW – Donnie (Donna) Louann Westmoreland, 58, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her home.

She was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother who devoted her entire life to her husband, four children and three grandchildren. She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Jack Edward and Bessie Davis Chapman. Mrs. Westmoreland was an in-home babysitter for many years and had many children that she shared her love with throughout the years and who loved her and called her Mrs. Donna.

In addition to her parents, she was recently preceded in death by a sister, Stacey Daugherty.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Davey; four children, Chris Westmoreland (Kelly), of Louisville, Kelly Westmoreland and friend Jonathan, of Nashville, Tenn., Carissa Westmoreland and fiancé Tony, of Glasgow, and Katelynn Westmoreland, at home; three grandchildren, Dakota, Logan and Luke and their mother, Dana Houk, of Greensburg; two sisters, Jackie Sue Copas (Mark), of Tompkinsville, and Kerran Chapman, of Glasgow; three brothers-in-law, Jeff Daugherty, Dale (Paula) Westmoreland, of Glasgow, and Jackie Westmoreland, of Edmonton; two sisters-in-law, Linda Polson (David) and Janette Perkins (Mitch), both of Edmonton; two aunts, Barbara Simmons and Ruth Ann Spann, of Glasgow; an uncle Jr. Chapman (Sue), of Edmonton; and her special caregiver, Carol Westmoreland.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

GLASGOW — Kathy Lynn Gibson, 54, Glasgow, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.



HORSE CAVE — Roxie Lee Nuckols, 91, of Horse Cave, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave. Family will receive friends at Bearwallow Baptist Church in Horse Cave from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be at Bearwallow Baptist Church at 1 p.m.  Thursday. Interment will be at Bearwallow Cemetery in Horse Cave. Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville.
