GLASGOW — Max Byrd

CAVE CITY – Max Byrd, 67, of Cave City, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Hart County Health Care.

Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late Denzil and Myrtie Smith Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a farmer.

Survivors include one son, Brad Shea Byrd (Carrie), of Wickerville; one brother, Ferrell Byrd (Joanne), of Center; two sisters, Margaret Hurt (James) and Nancy Walden (Larry), both of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Destiny, Clayton and Addison Byrd along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Bobby Byrd; and one sister, Jerline Bryant.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the funeral home.

Kenneth Weldon Edwards

EDMONTON – Kenneth Weldon Edwards, 82, of Edmonton, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.  

He was the son of the late Carlie and Elyven Matney Edwards.  

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Smith Cemetery at Sulphur Well. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Jaxsen Keith Graves

PARK CITY  – Jaxsen Keith Graves, infant son of Brad and Gina Jones Graves, of Park City, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in Glasgow.

He is survived by his parents, Brad and Gina Jones Graves, of Park City; four brothers, Corey Graves, of Park City, Trenten Spears, of Glasgow, Westen Harper, of Glasgow and Ty Graves, of Park City; two sisters, Kaitlyn Graves, of Glasgow and Taylor Graves, of Park City; maternal grandparents, Junior and Brenda Anderson, of Glasgow; paternal grandparents, Betty and Dennis Vibbert, of Park City; paternal great-grandparents, J.B. and Wanda Doyle, of Park City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Graves and great-grandparents, Albert and Louise Morgan and Jack and Marie Graves.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Rocky Hill Cemetery.



Ella Hunt

GLASGOW – Ella Hunt, 77, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Feb.19, 2013, in Glasgow.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Revil Ray Shaw

TOMPKINSVILLE – Revil Ray Shaw, 86, of Tompkinsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

Revil was born in Monroe County on July 2, 1926, a son of the late Lillie (Spears) and William Shaw.

On June 28, 1947, in Glasgow, he married Bessie Lee (Sprowl) Shaw who preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for three years. He worked for a sawmill as a saw operator. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Revil is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Wendell) Taylor, of Glasgow, and Reba (Howard) Horn, of Knoxville, Tenn., and a son, Brian (Joyce) Shaw, of Cave City; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Revil is also survived by a sister, Etta Stockton, of Indiana, and a brother, Cleburn Shaw, of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, with Jimmy Cook officiating.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 22, after 4 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 23, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery, with DAV Chapter 20 performing military rites at the cemetery.

 

Rheda Moody Smith

SMITHS GROVE – Rheda Moody Smith, 65, of Smiths Grove, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the home of her stepdaughter.

She was the daughter of the late Irvin and Lena Bell Perdue Moody, and wife of Preston Smith, who survives.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Faith United Baptist Church in Oakland with burial in Hays Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel, and 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

TOMPKINSVILLE – Donavan Leon Bailey, 82, of Tompkinsville, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center. Funeral services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, at 10 a.m. Thursday. Visitation will be Thursday 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bailey Cemetery.



 GLASGOW – Ervin W. Edmonds Jr., 82, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Glasgow. Burial will follow in Barlow Cemetery. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at the church. Watts & Percell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



GLASGOW – Flounish Elizabeth Bragg England, 78, of Glasgow, died Monday, Feb.18, 2013, at Glasgow Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Moore Cemetery in Adair County. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Friday morning until service time.



GLASGOW – Carroll C. Garrett, 71, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Glenview Healthcare in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Antioch Cemetery.



MUNFORDVILLE – Joe Donald McCorkle, 72, of Munfordville, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time for services Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville. Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.



LARGO, Fla. – Ricky A. Richardson, 55, of Largo, Fla., died Wednesday Feb. 13, 2013. Memorial services will be from 1 until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Fairview Church of Christ.
