GLASGOW — Roy Hartzell Branstetter

EDMONTON – Roy Hartzell Branstetter, 89, of Edmonton, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at NHC in Glasgow.

He was the son of the late Willie Green and Bertha Payne Branstetter. He operated Edmonton Farm Supply for many years in Edmonton. He was a member of South Edmonton Church of Christ.   

He is survived by two children, Fowler, and wife Katie Branstetter, of Edmonton, and Frances, and husband Barry Edwards, of Glasgow; two sisters, Opal Howard, of Lexington, and Christine Pierce, of Louisville; four grandchildren, Stacy (Greg) Smith, of Glasgow, Emily (Kevin) Hartmann, of Illinois, Andrea Branstetter, of Lexington, and Kevin Branstetter, of Cary, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Barrett Smith, Lauren Robison, Braden Hartmann and Conner Hartmann.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; four brothers and two sisters, Raymond, Paul, Wallace and Edward Branstetter and Elsie Hodges and Nelda Norris.  

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Carolyn Miller Dodson

TOMPKINSVILLE – Carolyn Miller Dodson, 76, of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville

She is survived by her husband, Julian Dodson, of Tompkinsville.

She was the daughter of the late George Miller Jr. and Louise Sisco Miller.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.

   

Rachel Long Hemric

GLASGOW – Rachel Long Hemric, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at the home of her granddaughter, Suzanne McDaniel in Glasgow.

She was the wife of the late Hugh V. Hemric and daughter of the late John Henry Long and Lilly Maude Money Long.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hamptonville, N.C., with burial in Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Hamptonville, N.C.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hamptonville, N.C.

Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.



Allene Turner

CAVE CITY – Allene Turner, 80, of Cave City, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at the Trevecca Health and Rehab Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Born in Green County, she was the daughter of the late David and Helen Christine Curry Kidd and the wife of the late Edmond Lee Turner. Mrs. Turner was a homemaker, a former employee of Caverna Elementary School and member of Cave City Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Self (Larry), of Cave City, Barbara Phillips (Randy), of Nashville, Tenn., and Wanda Smith (Bobby), of Antioch, Tenn; two sons, Terry Turner (Diane), of Rockvale, Tenn., and Larry Dean Turner (Bobbi), of Pegram, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Eric Self (Crystal), of Smiths Grove, Katrina Self, of Cave City, Amanda Carnahan, of Lebanon, Tenn., and Cody Turner, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and one great-grandchild, Merick Self, of Smiths Grove.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Verlene Hardy, and two brothers, Joe and Randall Kidd.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Russell Yonker

MUNFORDVILLE – Russell Yonker, 71, of Munfordville, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Chicago Sept. 2, 1941. He was the son of the late Raymond Howard Yonker and Dorothy Evelyn Miller Yonker and was a retired veteran from the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine.

He is survived by a son, Russell Yonker Jr., of Horse Cave; three daughters, Nina May Pickett, of Campbellsville, Roberta Kay Constant, of Munfordville, Tammy Sue Wheat, of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; one brother, William Bruce Yonker, of Rhinelander, Wis.; and one sister, Beverly Jean Bacon, of Kentwood, Mich.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in Horse Cave Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
