CUB RUN - Wilma Alvey, 69, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until time for services.
David Lawrence Ballard
GRIDERVILLE - David Lawrence Ballard, 74, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
A native of Indiana, he was a son of the late William Robert Ballard Sr. and Thelma Zachary Ballard. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict era and had worked in the insurance industry for 40 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Hiseville Lodge # 787 F&AM;, Valley of Louisville Orient of Kentucky and the Hiseville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marietta; two sons: David Ross Ballard of Nashville and Chuck Ballard and his wife, Lisa Crabtree Ballard of Louisville; one granddaughter: Erin Nicole Ballard of Cincinnati; two nieces and one nephew of Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William R. Ballard Jr.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted by the Hiseville Lodge at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hiseville United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

MUNFORDVILLE - Mary Alice Dennison, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at Hart County Health Care Center.
She was the daughter of the late Buren and Hattie Pearl Puckett.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in Munfordville Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.
Paul Edward ‘Buck’ Hale
TOMPKINSVILLE - Paul Edward “Buck” Hale, 78, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his residence.
He was the son of the late William Lester Hale and Mary Ann Davis Hale.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Strode Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Harlans Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

OAKLAND - Helen Grinstead Holman, 97, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Will Grinstead and Nellie Lawrence Grinstead. Survivors include her husband, Hardin Holman of Oakland.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Iris Faye Jennings
GLASGOW - Iris Faye Jennings, 63, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Paul J. Jennings; and a brother, Dr. Mark Kuzma (Sheila) of Glasgow.

Leroy O’Banion
HARDYVILLE - Leroy O’Banion, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at the Hart County Health Care Center.
He was a son of the late Charlie O’Banion and Mable Conyers O’Banion. Survivors include his wife, Reba Jones O’Banion of Hardyville.

She was the daughter of the late Clone Wood and Grace Gentry Wood and wife of the late Donald Plott.

Margaret Elizabeth Elmore Simmons
BOWLING GREEN - Margaret Elizabeth Elmore Simmons, 60, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at her home.
She was born in Bakersfield, Calif., the daughter of the late Wilborn (Red) and Mary Elizabeth Barrick Elmore. She graduated from Temple Hill High School in 1966 and Western Kentucky University in 1970. She lived in many places over the course of her life including Bad Krueznach and Frankfurt, Germany, Tampa, Fla., Grovetown, Ga., Galt, Calif., Louisville, Jacksonville, Fla., and Bowling Green. She worked as a library assistant in Sacramento, Calif., Louisville, Jacksonville, Fla., and at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Margaret was a gracious, loving and dearly beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt, and a friend to everyone she met. She attended Broadway United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.
Survivors include her husband, Charles David (Chuck) Simmons; one daughter, Susan Luka (Michael) of Louisville; one brother, Michael W. Elmore (Carol) of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister, Jennifer Elmore of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Margaret Elizabeth Elmore Simmons will be Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 13, from 2 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
