Ruth Dale Gravens

SULPHUR WELL — Ruth Dale Gravens, 89, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha Edwards Boston. Ruth was a member of Sulphur Well Methodist Church and a retired cook. She cooked for 32 years starting at Center school and retiring from North Metcalfe Elementary. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Frank Gravens.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Boston Cemetery at Sulphur Well. Visitation continues after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She is survived by four daughters: June (Sterling) Howell of Hardyville, Sandy Caffee of Center, Reba (Tom) Norman of Edmonton and Nancy Gravens of Edmonton; two sisters: Alyne Jolly of Center and Virginia McCandless of Louisville; five grandchildren: Susan (Dean) Forbes of Hardyville, Nathan (Michelle) Howell of Bowling Green, Derrick (Donna) Caffee of Center, Torrie (Jim) Osbon of Jeffersonville, Ind., and April (William) Cline of Edmonton; nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Kenneth Dale and Marla Ann Gravens; one grandson, Kenneth Norman; and two sisters, Marine VanZant and Ruby Nell Reece.



David Logsdon

HORSE CAVE — David Logsdon, 54, of Suitland, Md., formerly of Hart County, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in Camp Springs, Maryland.

He was the son of the late Glen U. and Louise Walters Logsdon. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Logsdon of Suitland, Md.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation continues after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Wilson Lothair Tenry

GLASGOW — Wilson Lothair Tenry, 90, of Glasgow, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the NHC Health Care Facility in Glasgow. He was born in Enville, Tenn. the son of the late Gilbert and Florence Bishop Tenry. He was retired from the T.V.A. and was a WWII Veteran where he was a Ranger with the U.S. Army and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Mr. Tenry was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife Rutha Buckley Tenry; his daughter Marcia Tenry Abbott and husband Fred of Cypress, Texas; two grandsons Justin and Nicholas Abbott; two brothers Reabon Tenry of Union City, Tenn. and Knox Tenry of Carthage, Tenn.; two sisters Ivene Bishop of Enville, Tenn. and Agnes Smith of Henderson, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews including locally; Judy Houchens (Jimmy), Curtis Wood, Mike Wood (Linda); great nieces and nephew; Stacey Owen (Tommy), Amy Key (Mark), Nicole Jones (Beau), Michelle Murphy (Daryl), Mica Wood and Josh Wood. Three great-great nephews and three great-great nieces also survive. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Shelton Tenry, a sister Ulene Cash and four brothers Welton, Harold, Ray and Neal Tenry.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be on Sunday after noon and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time for the service at the church.



Barry Michael Ford

CAVE CITY — Barry Michael Ford, 51, of Cave City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2009. He was a wonderful husband, father and provider. He was the owner and operator of Barry’s Service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra Strode Ford; one son Anthony Michael Ford; father and mother-in-law Doug and Nancy McGuire Oliphant; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Vera Gaye Strode Basil; nieces Kezia Thompson, Leah Thompson, Rebekah Thompson and Ruth Ann Ford, all of Glasgow. A very special cousin Eddie Wade of Glasgow; one step-sister-in-law Kay Oliphant of Elizabethtown and one step-brother-in-law Lee Oliphant of Scottsville and a host of family and friends throughout Kentucky and Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Harry and Ruth Wade Ford, one brother Steve Ford and his grandmother Pauline Wade Staats.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009, at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Dorothy M. Myers

BROWNSVILLE — Dorothy M. Myers, 84, of Brownsville, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

She was born in Edmonson County to the late John Sherman Poteet and the late Estella Scruggs Poteet. She was the wife of the late Vaughn O. Myers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beaver Dam United Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son: James F. Smith (Carol) of Glasgow; one daughter: Vickie Sanders (Eddie) of Cub Run; one sister: Marie Cassady of Brownsville; two grandchildren: Michael Smith (Lesley) of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Matthew Smith of Harbor Springs, Mich.; two great-grandchildren: Cassidy Smith of Greenfield, N.H. and Jasper Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was preceeded in death by four brothers: Ernest Poteet, Bill Poteet, Duel Poteet and Tom Poteet and two sisters: Delores Wingfield and Opal Poteet.

Visitation will be at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 5 and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday April 6.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 6 at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel with burial in the Kinser Cemetery.

Georgia Ann Cahoe

HORSE CAVE — Georgia Ann Cahoe, 66, of Horse Cave, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at her residence in Horse Cave.

She was the daughter of the late Calvin Jones and the late Harriet Jones and wife of the late James R. “Bobby” Cahoe.

Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, April 6 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 7.

Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 with Bro. Joe Noe officiating. Interment will be at Wilkerson Temple Cemetery in Munfordville.



William Richard Eddings

GLASGOW — William Richard Eddings, 80, of Glasgow, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at the NHC Health Care Facility.

Arrangements are incomplete but under the direction of the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

FRANKLIN — John William Baker, 73, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, where services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Franklin, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Visitation continues Sunday from 6 a.m. until noon at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until funeral service time. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.



GLASGOW — Earline C. Kingrey, 81, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at NHC Health Care Facility in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.
