Wanda Mae Smith Jackson

SMITHS GROVE— Wanda Mae Smith Jackson, 67, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Clarence Smith and Delilah Mae Bradley Smith. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James “Jimmy” Jackson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Ernest Odell Geralds

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Ernest Odell Geralds, 79, passed away on the morning of April 8, 2009.

He was born in Mount Hermon, on March 5, 1930, to the late Ernest and Brockie (Carter) Geralds.

Ernest was raised in Glasgow before he settled and raised his family in Indianapolis. He was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Boyd’s Creek. Ernest married the former Carolyn Sue Sweeney on Nov. 13, 1965, and she preceded him in death in 2007.

He was a chemical operator and retired from Kerr McGee Chemical. Previous employment was with Fairmont Glass Company. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Ernest was the beloved patriarch of his family. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his children: Sherry (Paul) Herbert, Steve (Kathie) Geralds, Debbie (Jim) Gorman, Brenda Gray, Rebecca Shields, Anthony (Janet) Geralds and Tonya (Brian) Brown; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-greatgranddaughters; sisters: Eva Jean Gibson and Lucille Mansfield, both of Glasgow, and several nieces and nephews, also of Glasgow.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 10, at Legacy Funeral Center at Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at the Legacy Funeral Center on Saturday, April 11, at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.

Richard A. Klenck

PRINCETON, Ind. — Richard A. Klenck, 54, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Sept. 1, 1954, in Evansville.

Richard graduated from Fort Branch High School in the class of 1972. He had worked for MCF Construction, Happe Construction and Martin Construction. Richard had been self-employed with Entire Builders and was working for Takenaka USA as a site manager

He was of the Christian faith. Richard loved hunting, woodworking, bricklaying, reading, computers, and history.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Klenck; mother and step father, Nellie and Norman Mason; brother, Vernon Klenck; and brother-in-law, Elmer Richie.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jennifer Klenck of Princeton and their pet, Sissy; brother, Roger Klenck (Joyce) of Wadesville; four sisters: Matildia Reynolds and her companion, Ray Weber of Evansville; Deloris Anderson (Jerry) of Fort Branch; Phyliss Koch (Alfred) of St. Wendell; Paulette Richie of Glasgow; aunt, Leona Sammet (Ed) of Evansville; brother-in-law, Tom Singer (Carol) of Haubstadt; sisters-in-law, Pat Singer and friend, Kathy of Evansville; Judy Yarbor (Bill); Mary McKannan (Tony) and Erica Rodgers all of Haubstadt; 22 nieces and nephews and 37 great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Chavez, physicians and the staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center for their extra care and kindness.

Private services will be held at a later date.

GLASGOW — Samuel H. Norris, 76, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

GLASGOW — Katherine Louise Simmons, 57, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation continues at the funeral home.
