Florence Elizabeth Blankenship

GLASGOW — Florence Elizabeth Blankenship, 75, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

A native of Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Clarena Mae Adams and Fredrick Eugene Everetts. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Robert Shrader; three daughters, Sarah Gray, Mary Hubble and Stacy Lemasters; two brothers, Stanley Everetts and Rick Everetts; three sisters, Audrey Foster, Lula Swift and Freda Hutcheson; her boyfriend, Jack Laycox; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Walter Shrader; one brother, Martin Lavergne; and one sister, Charlotte Fine.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Friends may call after noon Friday at the funeral home.

Pearl E. Collins

LOUISVILLE — Pearl E. Collins, 90, formerly of Glasgow, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Summerfield Health and Rehab Center in Louisville.

Arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Lillie Mae Ellington

GLASGOW — Lillie Mae Ellington, 98, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at NHC Healthcare Center in Glasgow.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Kate Duff and wife of the late Dabner Ellington.

Funeral services will be at Pleasant Union Baptist Church today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. with interment in the Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Watts Funeral Home, Glasgow, is in charge of arrangements.



Dorothy Gossett

CAVE CITY — Dorothy Gossett, 84, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at her residence.

She and her husband owned Watermill Restaurant in Cave City.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Gossett, Cave City; children, Joyce (Larry) Gibbons, Denis Gossett, Melissa Hester (Alan) Eubank and Rickey (Tammy) Gossett.

Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, are incomplete at this time.

SMITHS GROVE — Henry H. Harriford, 79, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

GLASGOW — Nova Witty Moore, 92, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

Marjory Ann Pieplow

MOUNT STERLING — Marjory Ann Pieplow, 61, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at her residence.

Born in Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Leo Delvin Matzinger and Lillian Mae Vandercook Matzinger and wife of the late Kenneth Pieplow. Mrs. Pieplow was a member of the Hope Son Shine Chapel Church and was a retired school teacher.

Survivors include a son: Brad Elmore (Regina) of Jeffersonville; a step daughter: Brenda Dunn (Donnie) of Camargo; three grandchildren: Rebecca Lynn Elmore, Rachel Louann Elmore and Alexander Lee Dunn; two sisters Helen Simpson of Lucky, Ohio, and Sharon Bradshaw of North Carolina; and two brothers: Dale Matzinger of Clinton, Mich., and Charles Matzinger of Lansing, Mich.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Elmore; her second husband, Donald Sedwick; and a brother, John Matzinger.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

HISEVILLE — Philip N. Unser, 63, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

BURKESVILLE — Vivian L. Stacey Wise, 94, a resident of Cumberland Valley Manor, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the nursing home after an illness.

There will be no public visitation. Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Burkesville, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

SUMMER SHADE — Wilma Jean Baker, 82, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Glenview Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph.



GLASGOW — Margaret Nell Starr, 96, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) and from 9 a.m. Thursday until time for service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dr. Charles Stanley’s In Touch Ministries or the Glasgow Baptist Church.



HORSE CAVE — James F. Wilcoxson, 91, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Horse Cave, with burial in Cosby Cemetery.



FOUNTAIN RUN — Sarah Ellis (Agers) Dismon, 93, born Oct. 14, 1915, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Glenview Health Care at Glasgow. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Hughes Funeral Home, Fountain Run, with burial in Fountain Run Cemetery.
