Clarice Dubree

SPENCER, Ind. — Clarice Dubree, 90, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, in Spencer. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Ferguson and Carrie Hamilton Ferguson.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in White Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the funeral home.



Junie Otto Flowers Jr.

SUMMER SHADE — Junie Otto Flowers Jr., 56, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Flowers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 22, at 1 p.m. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Burkesville, with burial in the Burkesville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home.



Kenneth Junior Froedge

EDMONTON — Kenneth Junior Froedge, 69, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at his home. He was a member of Moore Springs Missionary Baptist Church at Edmonton. He was also a member of the Edmonton Masonic Lodge No. 931 and Order of Eastern Star No. 470, both of Edmonton. He, along with his wife, were owners and operators of Variety Sales and Service in Edmonton. He was born in Greensburg, Ind., the son of the late Henry Froedge and Annie Harper Froedge of Flat Rock, Ind., who survives. He was married to Margie Caffee on June 6, 1949, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2007, after 47 years of marriage.

He is survived by three sons: Cecil Dewayne (Lisa) Froedge and Donald Ray (Judy F.) Froedge, both of Edmonton, Charles Lee (Judy A.) Froedge of Edinburg, Ind.; two daughters: Wanda Lynn Cox (Rick) of Batesville, Ind., Waunita Lynn Pierce (David) of Columbus, Ind.; six sisters: Barbara (Wayne) Pierce and Judy (Malcolm) Bragg, both of Flat Rock, Ind., Stella Asbury and Betty Wicker, both of Hope, Ind., Bernice (John) Thompson of Columbus, Ind., and Janice (Kenton) Gosser of Waldron, Ind.; one brother: Ronnie Froedge of Columbus, Ind.; four grandsons, two granddaughters, one step granddaughter and one step grandson. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

Besides his father and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Henry and Charles Froedge; one sister: Agnes Froedge; and one grandson: Kenton Froedge.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope, Ind. Burial will be in Haw Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton and from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Norman Funeral Home at Hope. Masonic services and Eastern Star services will be held at Butler Funeral Home on Tuesday evening and at Norman Funeral Home on Wednesday evening. Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton is in charge of local arrangements.

Alma Ruth Bailey Harlow

LOUISVILLE — Alma Ruth Bailey Harlow, 95, , passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Norton Hospice Pavilion.

A native of Barren County, she was a member of the First Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her son, David K. Harlow (Cordia); daughters, Lennie Margaret “Margie” Harlow, Donna Brogdon (Scott); grandchildren, Daryl Harlow, Paul Harlow, Vanessa Giancola (Victor), Jennifer Brogdon of Cincinnati, Ohio; great- grandchild, Corey Giancola; and special niece, Linda Bader.

Her service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Oliver Goad

GLASGOW — James Oliver Goad, 97, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

He was born in Allen County, the son of the late Robert and Rosa Houchens Goad. Mr. Goad was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a barber for many years, first with Bill Howard’s Barber Shop and later with Carlos Wilson’s Barber Shop and also was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Ada Davidson Goad; one son: Mike Goad and wife Pam of Glasgow; two step grandchildren: Nicole Pursley (Jared) and Leslie Spillman (Brent); and one step grandchild: Tate Spillman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Randall Goad; five brothers: Herbert, William, Ed, Frank and Paul Goad; and a sister: Georgia Dean.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow, will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home.

David M. ‘Beuf’ Long

BURKESVILLE — David M. “Beuf” Long, 51, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, as a result of a plane crash in Metcalfe County.

Arrangements will be announced when completed by Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Iva Bell ‘Iver’ Pickerell

TOMPKINSVILLE — Iva Bell “Iver” Pickerell, 85, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Robert Ross Copass and Minnie McKenley White Copass and wife of the late Dewey Raymond ‘Red’ Pickerell.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home.



Justin Garrett Wilkerson

GLASGOW — Justin Garrett Wilkerson, 22, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Fort Knox.

EL PASO, Texas — James Howard Allen, 87, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. A memorial gathering of friends and family, organized by Jenny Morrison, sister-in-law, and Jennie Young, niece, will be Saturday, May 2, at 2 p.m. at New Salem United Methodist Church, 1307 New Salem Road, Glasgow.



BOWLING GREEN – Donna K. “Katie” Cooke, 51, of Smiths Grove, died Friday, April 17, 1009, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakland-Mount Zion Baptist Church with burial in Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home Inc.



BURKESVILLE — Warren Parker, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Cumberland County Hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Community Full Gospel Church in Albany with burial in the Smith Grove Cemetery in Cumberland County. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home of Burkesville is in charge of funeral arrangements.



FOUNTAIN RUN — Elmer Eugene “Gene” Wheet, 78, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Burial will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
