Shawn L. Carter

TOMPKINSVILLE — Shawn L. Carter, 29, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.

He was born in Tompkinsville on April 24, 1980, the son of Harold Carter and Connie Turner Carter, both of Tompkinsville, who survive.

Other survivors include his maternal grandfather, Rex Turner of Tompkinsville; paternal grandparents: Charles and Beatrice Carter of Tompkinsville; a brother: Robert Carter of Tompkinsville; and two sisters: Alexis Carter and Hannah Carter, both of Tompkinsville.

He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lena Turner.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 3, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with Brother Larry Graves officiating. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.



Clarice Hinds Ford

TOMPKINSVILLE — Clarice Hinds Ford, no age given, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. She was the daughter of the late Tinker David Hinds and Addie Sewell Hinds. She was also the wife of the late Rex Ford.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in the Mt. Poland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.



Dorothy Garrett Gibson

GLASGOW — Dorothy Garrett Gibson, 83, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was the daughter of the late Luther and Virgie Jessie Garrett and wife of the late Rollin (Dick) Gibson.

She was retired from T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was a long time member of Edmonton Baptist Church but attended First Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She recently had attended Dripping Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Edmonton Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy can be made to the Mary Wood Weldon Library or the Dripping Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca “Beckie” and her husband Arlis D. Waller of Glasgow; one brother: Kenneth Wayne Garrett and wife Rachel of Glasgow; a special friend: Christine Waller of Glasgow. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Stephen Alan Harris

EDMONTON — Stephen Alan Harris, 56, of Edmonton, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by two sons, Kyle (Terri Jo) Harris, of Glasgow, Josh Harris of Edmonton; father, Truman Harris of Edmonton; one sister, Carolyn Huffman of Center; three step children: Todd Preston of Kansas, Erick Preston of Oregon, Wendy Moseley of Bowling Green; four grandchildren: Anna Kate Davidson, Duncan Preston, Madison and Caden Moseley; a nephew, Chris Huffman; a niece, Lesley London; a great niece and nephews, Kassady and Tyler London and Colton and Cade Huffman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Harris.



Werner Ervin Hauri

EDMONTON — Werner Ervin Hauri, 65, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

He is survived by his wife Linda Kay Hauri.

Services and burial were at his home near Edmonton on Thursday, April 30, 2009.



Scarlet Dawn Hogue

SCOTTSVILLE — Scarlet Dawn Hogue, 44, of Glasgow, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

The Scottsville native was an employee of Smuckers. She was a daughter of the late Donald Brentley Hogue and Nettie Sue Williams Hogue, who survive.

She is survived by her mother, Sue Hogue, Scottsville; her companion: Susan Jenkins, Glasgow; paternal grandmother, Newman Hogue, Scottsville, Ky.; three brothers, Drexxel Hogue and wife, Frances; Dustan Hogue and wife, Joyce, all of Scottsville, Ky.; Josh Hogue, Pa; two sisters, Lorri Shannon and husband, George, Lebanon, Tenn., and Holly Bass and husband, Joe, Scottsville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews and a great niece.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Hubert Hogue; and her maternal grandparents, Stanford and Louise Williams.

Funeral services for Scarlet Dawn Hogue will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Goad Funeral Home with Brother Danny Holland officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation is now in progress at Goad Funeral Home.

Kay Donald Madison

BOWLING GREEN — Kay Donald Madison, 73, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.

He was the son of the late Elmer Madison and Hazel Johnson Madison. He was the husband of Norma L. McChesney Madison, of Bowling Green, who survives.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.



LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Fannie Moon Lawrence, 101, formerly of Barren County, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Lawrenceville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Shiloh Church Cemetery at Railton. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
