Genevia Lou Evans Anderson
RED BOILING SPRINGS, Tenn. — Genevia Lou Evans Anderson, 76, formerly of Monroe County, was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Monroe County to the late Eli and Lizzie Pollard Evans.
Genevia and Morris Anderson were married Oct. 27, 1951, at Judge Evans’ home. She was a member of Red Hill Holiness Church of which she and her late husband, Morris Anderson, were founders.
She passed away Monday, May 4, 2009, at the Palace Nursing Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Anderson; three brothers, Rex Evans, Jack Evans and Elmore Evans; four sisters: Gladys Vibbert, Mae Bell Birge, Ruby York and Thelma Evans.
She is survived by two sons: Jerry Dale Anderson and Junior Dale Anderson, both of Glasgow; four daughters: Linda Wilmoth of Gallatin, Tenn., Jackie Braswell of Gamaliel, Dollie Scott and Veronica Watson, both of Tompkinsville; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one brother: Bill Evans, and two sisters, Mary Finley and Margie Pickerell, all of Tompkinsville.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the Red Hill Holiness Church with Brother James Riddle and Brother Wendell Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the Yokley-Trible Funeral Home. Visitation, Thursday, May 7, 2009, will be after 8 a.m. at the Red Hill Holiness Church until time of funeral.
Betty Jo White Meredith
PARK CITY — Betty Jo White Meredith, 73, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Glasgow.
She was born in Prestonburg, the daughter of the late Lynn Turner and Mamie Turner. She was a homemaker, beloved mother, loving grandmother and caring friend to all she met. She was a member of Park City Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son: Grover Lynn White (Vetta) of Park City; three daughters: Brenda Poynter (Mitchell) of Horse Cave, Ethel Louise Minks of Park City and Lisa Meredith Webb of Horse Cave; five grandchildren: Tracy Decker, Jammie Lewis, Tommy White, Ashley Handley and Brooklin Webb; three great-grandchildren: Megan Lewis, Chelsea Minks and Destiny Minks; six stepchildren; three brothers-in-law: James Clifford White, Grover C. White (Louise), and Wallace Dee White (Letha); three sisters-in-law: Arizona White Morris, Geneva White Miles and Audrey White; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Elsie White Hazel and Marie White Walden; and one brother-in-law: Otis White.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, with burial in Doyle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday), and Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 9 a.m. until noon at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel.

Larry Robert Smothers
LUCAS — Larry Robert Smothers, 65, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Marion County, Lebanon. He was a retired general contractor and a former member of the U.S. Marine Corp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mabel Whitlock Smothers.
Surviving are his wife, Janet B. Smothers of Lucas; two daughters: Laura Vergara of Louisville, Angela Smothers of Elizabethtown; a son: Robert Smothers of Louisville; two stepsons: Scott and Timothy Filback of Austin; a sister: Vivian Pike of Louisville; six grandchildren: Griffin and Kelsey Hardwick, Mya and McKenzie Smothers and Jenna and T.J. Filback; two great-nephews: David and Shane Clark; and great-niece and nephew: Devon and Dillon Clark.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Bosley Funeral Home with the Rev. Vic Stansbury officiating. Interment will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Bosley Funeral Home, 246 S. Proctor Knott Ave., Lebanon.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice.

CAVE CITY — Celia Beck Holder, 84, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at the University of Louisville Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Cave City Cemetery.
BOWLING GREEN — Kay Donald Madison, 73, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
TOMPKINSVILLE — Dorothy Ramsey, 89, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Skaggs Creek Cemetery Upkeep Fund.
