Anna Joyce Vinson Birge

TOMPKINSVILLE — Anna Joyce Vinson Birge, 71, of Tompkinsville, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. She was born in Macon County, Tenn. on Feb. 3, 1938, to the late Chan Vinson and Clovis Etheridge Vinson. She was a member of the Phillippi Church of Christ, a retired factory worker with the former Key Work Clothes.

She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Birge, of Tompkinsville; a daughter, Connie Birge, of Tompkinsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and JoAnn Birge, of Tompkinsville; two sisters, Peggy Dugard, of Tompkinsville, and Sue Roarke, of Lafayette, Tenn.; two brothers, Danny Vinson, of Tompkinsville, and Wayne Vinson, of Summer Shade; a half-brother, Junior Vinson, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a grandson, Matthew Birge.

She was preceded in death by five sisters: Nell, Elaine, Minnie and Lois Vinson and Bobbie Jean Clarkson, and a brother, Timmy Vinson, and three half-brothers: Golman, Tom and Eugene Vinson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Friends may call at the Strode Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the White Cemetery.





Kenneth Wayne Boss

BOWLING GREEN — Kenneth Wayne Boss, 35, of Bowling Green, died Friday, May 22, 2009 in auto accident at Bristow and Goshen Church roads.

He is the son of the late Edward Allen Boss and Rose Bernice Terrell Boss.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.



Mary Chadwell

GLASGOW — Mary Chadwell, 69, of Cave City, KY died Thursday May 21, 2009 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Mrs. Chadwell was born in West Virginia the daughter of the late Harold and Irma Turner Jones.

She was a graduate of Berea College and was a Registered Nurse for 47 years. During her career, she was employed at T. J. Samson Community Hospital for 27 years and also worked a number of years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Oteen, NC. She also helped in medical clinics in the Virgin Islands and Yellowstone Natl. Park where her husband was employed. Mrs. Chadwell was a member of the Cave City United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Chadwell; a son Jack Chadwell Jr. of Cave City; a grandson Emerson Chadwell of Bowling Green; 3 brothers Bob Jones of Nemours, W.VA., Sammy Jones of Bluewell, W.VA. and Jerry Jones of Bluefield, W.VA.; a sister Linda Ponturia of Bluefield, W.VA. and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Jones.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday May 25, 2009 at the Cave City United Methodist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and at the Cave City United Methodist Church on Monday from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.

Berona Ray Embry

CAVE CITY — Berona Ray Embry, 85, Georgia, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 in Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Washington and Bessie McDaniel Ray and the widow of Ray Embry.

Graveside services at the Campground Cemetery under the direction of the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24. There will be no local visitation.



James Donald “Don” Pedigo

GLASGOW — James Donald “Don” Pedigo, 73, Cave City, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A son of the late Hughie Rollin Pedigo and Mary Lillie Riley Pedigo, he was a farmer and a retired salesperson. He had been co-owner of Pedigo Brothers Implement Co. and a former employee of Hiseville Feed and Seed and Kentuckiana Vet Supply. He was a member and Deacon of the Hiseville Baptist Church, a member of the Hiseville Masonic Lodge, Hiseville Eastern Star and Kosair Shrine. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; two sons, James Donald “Don” Pedigo II and his wife, Cathy, of Glasgow, and Clifton Wayne Pedigo and his wife, Julie, of Cave City; five grandchildren, Chris Powell and wife Jennifer, Jeremy Wayne Pedigo and wife Christina, James Donald “Jamie” Pedigo III, Brandi Birge and Briana Birge; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Alexis; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Casey Pedigo and one brother, Col. Hughie Richard Pedigo.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hiseville Masonic Lodge or to Kosair Charities.

Janice C. Pedigo

CAVE CITY — Janice C. Pedigo, 74, Cave City, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Hart County Health Care, Horse Cave. The Indiana native was the daughter of the late Delbert and Eudora Hinson Kellams.

Survivors include her husband Wendell N. Pedigo, Cave City.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel are incomplete.

EDMONTON — Terry William Klinkers, 54, died Monday, May 18, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Missionary Mound Cemetery at Edmonton. There will be no visitation.
