K. Derek Condon

BOWLING GREEN — K. Derek Condon, 27, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

He was the son of the late Kenneth Alan Condon and Tracy Johnson Condon Crane of Bowling Green, who survives. Other survivors include his wife, Ashleigh Ryan Condon of Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Hardy & Son Funeral Homes, Inc., Bowling Green, with burial in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today (Thursday), 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Shirley Marilyn Davis

TAYLORSVILLE — Shirley Marilyn Davis, 71, of Taylorsville, died Saturday, June 6, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Howard Davis.

Funeral services were 11:30 a.m. today (Thursday) at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mount Washington.

Memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the funeral home.



Robert Floyd ‘Bobby’ English

GREENSBURG — Robert Floyd “Bobby” English, 77, of Greensburg, son of the late Charles English and Pearl Blakeman English, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Vernie Alice Brewer; and a sister, Margie Simpson of Glasgow.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, Greensburg, with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.



E.C. ‘Kekus’ Ford Sr.

CAVE CITY — E.C. “Kekus” Ford Sr., 91, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave.

He was the son of the late Curd and Grace Cornelius Ford and the widow of Maxine McCoy Ford.

Graveside services were 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at Cave City Cemetery. Bob Hunt Funeral Home, Cave City, was in charge of arrangements.



Violet Kathleen Hughes

GLASGOW — Violet Kathleen Hughes, 88, of Glasgow died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at BHI Assisted Living Facility in Glasgow.

Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Washington Houchens and Mandy Alexander Houchens and wife of the late Charles Maywood Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Cave City Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons: William “Eddie” Hughes (Mary Lois) of Bowling Green, and Dennis Hughes (Sandra) of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren: Lorie Newcomb (Danny) of Bowling Green, Russell Hughes (Lisa) of Hoschton, Ga., Scott Hughes (Joy) of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Melissa Sawyer of Wixom, Mich.; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Hanna, Maliry, Kiersten and Tyler; a brother: Charles Houchens (McRae) of Glasgow; two sisters: Edna Plumlee and Carol Ann Sneed, both of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Arlis Houchens, and a sister, Inez Green.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Faye Kingery

TEMPLE HILL — Elizabeth Faye Kingery, 66, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kingery; one brother, James Hogue; and her parents, Alline and Orville Hogue.

She is survived by seven children: Michael (Shirley) Kingery, Connie Kingery (Jim), Rita (Daniel) Cogar, Bonnie (Clay) Cropper, Donna (Mike) Moss, Shelia Kingery and Jamie Kingery; 14 grandchildren: Kim (Wesley) Green, Melina Hughes, Chris (Tammy) Mesker, Brandon (Janine) Mesker, Josh Cogar, Elijah (Brittany) Cogar, Charlie Eubank, Tabatha Eubank, Haven Eubank, Nicole Burgess, Ashley (Joe) Seeley, Destiny (Danny) Cox, Matthew Kingery, and Elizabeth Kingery; six sisters: Josephine Poynter, Ann (Hauns) Raj, Wanda Peavley, Willowdean (Ray) Fonner, Betty (Jim) Buss, and Peggy (Jim) Fuller; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

OCALA, Fla. — Nicholas Wayne Shaw, 22, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009. A visitation for Nicholas will be today (Thursday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. A celebration of Nicholas’ life will be on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Maricamp Road Church of Christ, 2750 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala.
