Jannetje Mul Buchanan

GLASGOW — Jannetje Mul Buchanan, 70, of Glasgow, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home after an illness.

She was born January 30, 1939, in Harlem, Holland, the daughter of the late Peter Jacob Mul and Janetjea Polderman Mul. Mrs. Buchanan was a homemaker and a member of the Cave City Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Buchanan; two daughters, Maureen Ramaker and Jacqueline Ramaker, both of Holland; two stepsons, Robert Buchanan Jr. and Christopher Buchanan, both of North Carolina; six grandchildren, one of Canada, three of Holland and two of North Carolina; two brothers, Hotze Mull of Holland and Herumus Mul of Vancouver, Canada; and two sisters, Petra Mul Rozenhart and Simone Mul DeBoer of Holland.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until time for the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to: “Path Finders,” c/o James Page, 315 N. Dixie Hwy., Cave City, KY 42127.

Paul Edward Clements

GLASGOW – Paul Edward Clements, 69, of Lucas, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Casey County, the son of the late Cecil and Carrie Gilpon Clements. Mr. Clements was retired after 38 years from Arvin Industries in Franklin, Ind. He attended the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rachel Malone Clements; a daughter, Paula Craven of Greenwood, Ind.; two sisters, Delphene Strong of Liberty and Pauline Helms of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Ina Nally, and a brother, James Earl Clements, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Geneva D. Gilkey

GLASGOW – Geneva D. Gilkey, 84, Lucas, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Fred and Icely Green Dixon. She was a retired nurse from the Hazelwood hospital in Louisville, a member of the Eastern Star Chapter Evening Star and past worthy Matron and a member of the Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Marion Edward Gilkey; two sons: Col. Michael Gilkey of Lexington and Patrick Gilkey and his wife Lisa of Louisville; one daughter: Ramona Hawkins and her husband Jeff of Louisville; one stepson: Marion Gilkey Jr. and his wife Connie of Louisville; one step-daughter: Pamela Maze of Mount Washington; one sister: Catherine McGarvey of Middletown, Pa.; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one stepson: Danny Ray Gilkey; five brothers; Ed Dixon, Robert Dixon, Joe Dixon, Bobby Dixon and Ralph Dixon; and one sister: Mary Smith.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Brother Chuck Doolin officiating. Burial will be in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a Eastern service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 60 Austin, KY 42123.

Winnie Irene Light

SCOTTSVILLE – Winnie Irene Light, 78, of Scottsville, died Wednesday, June, 17, 2009, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.

She was the daughter of the late Eddie Neal Disman and the late Mattie Belle Williams and wife of the late Clifford Light.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hughes Funeral Home with burial in Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



Archie Lee Morrison

BOWLING GREEN – Archie Lee Morrison, 74, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green.

His arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Eudelle Spears

GLASGOW – Eudelle Spears, 91, of Glasgow, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was born in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late Elzie and Eunice Guthrie Humphrey. Mrs. Spears was a homemaker and was retired from General Motors Corp. She was a member of Guthrie’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Spears; 15 nieces and nephews and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Capps and Joyce Anderson; two brothers, Coolidge Humphrey and Wallace Humphrey; and a nephew, Wayne Anderson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Paul Edward Turner

TOMPKINSVILLE – Paul Edward Turner, 67, of Tompkinsville, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

He was the son of the late Bennie Harrison Turner and Doctor Hare Pedigo Turner and husband of the late Betty D. Turner.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
