Earl Wayne Bryant

FOUNTAIN RUN — Earl Wayne Bryant, 69, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Monroe County on May 19, 1940, to the late Sammie Bryant and Pearl Belk Bryant. He was a retired lineman for SCRTC.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Farley Bryant of Fountain Run; two sons and daughters-in-law: Terry Dale and Becca Bryant of Tompkinsville, and Jerry Wayne and Lisa Bryant of Fountain Run; two daughters and sons-in-law: Michelle and Bruce Spence of Bowling Green, and Shelia and Tommy Haile of Flippin; four sisters: Eva Cushenberry of Scottsville, Patty Ann Bryant of Scottsville and Eliza Stinson of Scottsville, and Bertie Stanton of Arkansas; six grandchildren: Jordan and Megan Haile, Cory and Brooklyn Bryant, Stone and Ty Bettersworth and Leah Smith; and three great-grandchildren: Blaze, Laylanee and Zayden.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Gale Bryant; and four brothers, Tommy Bryant, Sammie Bryant, Richard Bryant and Roger Bryant.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel with burial in the Lebanon Cemetery at Fountain Run. Friends may call at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel after 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to T.J. Samson Hospice.

Lula Mae Neagle

TAMPA, Fla. — Lula Mae Neagle, 88, formerly of Glasgow, died Friday, June 19, 2009, in Tampa.

She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ora Bowles Waller. Her husband was the late Ralph Neagle. Mrs. Neagle was a homemaker and a member of of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son: Ron Neagle and wife Sherry of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren: Karen, David, Debi, Linda, Tracy and Travis, and a sister, Pansy Neagle of Glasgow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Neagle Koenig.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Edmonson County. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.

Joseph W. Dunagan

HORSE CAVE — Joseph W. Dunagan, 78, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was a native of Hart County, a retired farmer and truck driver and a full-time loving dad. He was a member of the Bearwallow Church of Christ and a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include one daughter: Laura Jo Hall and her husband P.J. of Upton; two sons: Jimmy Dunagan and his wife Tiffany of Horse Cave and Bobby Dunagan and his wife Lori of Cave City; six grandchildren: Ashley Hall Arthur, R.J. Dunagan, Garrett Dunagan, Allison Dunagan, Erica Dunagan and Jaxson Dunagan; one sister: Ann Dunagan Crabtree of New Albany, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Dunagan and Willie Broady Dunagan; his wife, Helen Dunagan; a daughter, Joanne Dunagan; granddaughter, Leslie Dunagan; and a sister, Tommie Woosley.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. on Thursday.



Walter Daniel McDowell

CAVE CITY — Walter Daniel McDowell, 51, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Meterie, La., the son of the late Joseph Henry McDowell and Audrey Weston McDowell of Winnsboro, La., who survives. He was a truck driver for A-1 Transport and was a Baptist.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Judy; a son: William McDowell of Cave City; two daughters: Elice Sanchez of Bogalusa, La., and Dawn McDowell of Cave City; two brothers: Joe McDowell of San Diego, Calif., and Larry McDowell of Arkansas; three grandchildren: Aryna, Kalie and L.J. Sanchez; four nephews: Matthew and Dean Whitlow and Walter and Joseph McDowell; and one niece: Melissa Whitlow.

Funeral services will be held in West Monroe, La., at the Clark-Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, from 4 until 9 p.m.

Laverne Oliver

GLASGOW — Laverne Oliver, 75, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was born at Freedom, the daughter of the late Herbert and Frankie Lyons Oliver. Miss Oliver was a Baptist.

She is survived by a brother: Victor Maxie Oliver (Christine) of Westland, Mich.; a nephew: Kenneth W. Oliver (Vicki) of Livonia, Mich.; a great-nephew: Timothy Oliver; and a great-niece: Melissa Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Jones; and her step-mother, Myrtle Oliver.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

GLASGOW — Donna Carole Button Petruzzi, formerly of Glasgow, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at the Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.



PARK CITY – Mary Nell Wiley Thomason, 75, Park City, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral home.
