GLASGOW — Alma Brooks

COVE HOLLOW – Alma Brooks, 87, of the Cove Hollow community of Edmonson County died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was a daughter of the late Roscoe Jaggers and Donna Minton Jaggers and the wife of the late Nelson Jaggers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church with burial in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville and Friday after 9 a.m. at the church.



Larry David Hanes

GEORGETOWN – Larry David Hanes, 55, husband of Cyndi (Lancaster) Hanes, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.

He was born Jan. 7, 1957, in Bowling Green, the son of Georgia (Hughes) Hanes and the late Garnet Hanes. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home in Georgetown. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Georgetown First United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Gallaher officiating. Following the service in Georgetown there will be a visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home in Park City with a service at 4 p.m. with Brother Jerry Patton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Park City.

 

Kenneth Huff

GLASGOW – Kenneth Huff, 81, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at the U of L Hospital in Louisville.

Born in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Vangie Hurt Huff. Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was an employee of the NAPA store in Glasgow for more than 27 years. He was also a former Ideal Hardware employee and attended Glasgow Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ollie Paull Huff; his children, Bruce (Shevonika) Huff, of Glasgow, Teresa (Allen) Martin, of Iowa, Charlene Garmon, of Tompkinsville, and Karen (Shane) Donohue, of Glasgow; his stepchildren, Debbie (Bill) Blaydes, of Center, Kathy (Kenny) Hope, of Summer Shade, Tommy Paull and Tracy (Donna) Paull, both of Glasgow, and Betsy (Jeff) Jones, of Bowling Green. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother, five sisters and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Groce Huff.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens and military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20, of Glasgow. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

 

Hobert Maulden

LINWOOD – Hobert Maulden, 82, of Linwood, passed away at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Caverna Memorial Hospital emergency room. He was a son of the late Gad and Ada Dennison Maulden.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Hayes Maulden.

Funeral services for Hobert Maulden will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with Brother Raymond Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Maulden Family Cemetery at Linwood. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

SERVICES

RICHMOND – Francis Marion Bennett III (Frank), 83, died unexpectedly, Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the Richmond Place Rehabilitation Center, after a brief illness. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 150 East High St., Lexington, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Ramsey Funeral Home, with burial immediately after in Lancaster Cemetery. The family requests donations to the U.S. Marines Wounded Warrior Regiment in lieu of flowers.



LOUISVILLE – Jerry R. Bush, 69, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. EST, Thursday, Dec. 20, and 9 to 11 a.m. EST, Friday, Dec. 21, at Valley View Baptist Church in Louisville. The funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. EST, at Valley View Baptist Church, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Park City. Arrangements are by Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel.



TOMPKINSVILLE – Anthony “Tony” Poland, 51, of Tompkinsville, died Monday, Dec. 17 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20. Visitation is Wednesday Dec. 19, 2 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

 

BOWLING GREEN – Judy Hackman Rathbun, 72, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at her residence. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4655 Russellville Road, Bowling Green. Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green is in charge of the arrangements.
