Duane N. Breitenfeld
GLASGOW – Duane N. Breitenfeld, 68, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Glasgow Health & Rehab Center.
A native of Park Falls, Wisc., he was a son of the late August and Marie Drott Breitenfeld. He was a retired maintenance worker at T.J. Samson Community Hospital, a member of the First Church of God, and a United States Army veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Gass Breitenfeld; two sons, Michael Duane Breitenfeld (Shannon), and Christopher Lee Breitenfeld; two grandchildren, Dustin Michael Breitenfeld and Samantha Hailey Breitenfeld; six stepchildren, Johnny Green (Mary Jo), Theresa Richardson (Alan), Lisa Ketterer (Rob), Terry Green, Brenda Orlando, and Helen Aldridge; 14 step-grandchildren, Adam, Dylan, Casey, and Jennifer Green, Mitchell and Reagan VanCleave, Terri Lee, Nicole, and Danielle Green, Justin and Wesley Cleaver, Christy, Tiffany, and Steven Aldridge; two step-great-grandchildren, A.J. and Ty Green; three brothers, David (Joanne) Breitenfeld, Gene Breitenfeld and Marly Breitenfeld; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Jerry and Ronnie Breitenfeld; and one sister, Elaine.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

BOWLING GREEN – James Robert “Bobby” Brown Jr., 49, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at his residence.

Cathy Lou Freeman
EDMONTON – Cathy Lou Freeman, 55, of Edmonton, died Tuesday July 24, 2012, at her home.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Ervin, and fiancé Bradley Burton; granddaughter, Kenidee Burton; mother, Mary Bryant; two sisters, Elizabeth (Ralph) Scott, Connie Bryant; and special friend, Roger Hagan, all of Edmonton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rucien Bryant and one sister, Barbara Miller.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Cedar Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ralph Arlied Hicks
GLASGOW – Ralph Arlied Hicks, 85, of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was a retired truck driver and son of the late Charlie and Anna Criswell Hicks. He was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Indiana.
He is survived by five daughters, Frances (Ed) Adkins, of Temple Hill, Barbara (Darrell) Hurt, of Summer Shade, Sheila (Mike) Wix, of Indiana, Nita (Steve) Campbell, of Prestonburg, and Sylvia Davidson, of Glasgow; four sons, Bobby (Sue) Hicks, Louie (Karen) Hicks, Paul (Sondra) Hicks and Roger (Charity) Hicks, all of Indiana; one brother, Glen Hicks, of Indiana; 20 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Luzadie Hicks, one son, Roy Hicks, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 28, at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Dexter Bacon officiating. Burial will follow in Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, July 27, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Beaumont Cemetery.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Betty L. Mabbitt, 70, formerly of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Atlanta.

Alma Jean Moss
GLASGOW – Alma Jean Moss, 66, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
She was born in Metcalfe County, the daughter of the late Fred Waco Gassaway and Edna Earline Hurt.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Moss, of Glasgow; one son, Daniel Houchens, of Glasgow; one daughter, Sandy Houchens, of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Jessica Sturgeon (Darrell) and Lucas Carey, both of Cave City; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Jake Allen and Braylie Ray Sturgeon, all of Cave City; three sisters, Mary Lowe (Frank), Bonnie Gassaway Meek and Norma Crews, all of Glasgow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Tiny Tim, and one sister, Lilly Sue Gassaway.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Randolph Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mamie Marie Ross
HARDYVILLE – Mamie Marie Ross, 95, of Hardyville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave.
She was a retired cook with the Hart County School System, a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Ervin Garnett Boyd and the late Louisa Houk Boyd and the wife of the late John Thurman Ross.
She is survived by three sons, William “Bill” Cleaver Ross, of Louisville, David Boyd Ross (Phyllis), of Hardyville, Johnnie Franklin Ross (Charlyn), of Shepherdsville; one sister, Louise Sidebottom, of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Christola Boyd, of Munfordville; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Thurman Ross; grandson, Chris Ross; granddaughter, Dancie Ross; brother, Richard Boyd; sister, Dorinda Larimore; nephew, Richard Boyd, Jr.; and great-grandson, Zack Ross.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Brooks Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the funeral home, with Brother Raymond Hughes officiating. Interment will be at Horse Cave Cemetery, Horse Cave.
