Michael L. Busey

GLASGOW — Michael L. Busey, 42, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, in Lexington.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.



Wendell Cox

Wendell Cox, 87, of Glasgow died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

He was born in Metcalfe County, the son of the late willie M. and Inez (Sympson) Cox. Wendell was the former manage of Lessenberry Electric and Plumbing and enjoyed farming. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations. Mr. Cox was also one of the founding members of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Glasgow.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Matthews Cox; two sons: Larry Cox of Glasgow and Leland Cox and wife Debbie of Cave City; two daughters: Linda Cox Quinlan and husband Dan of Paducah, and Cheryl Cox Button and husband Kevin of Glasgow; eight grandchildren: Paul Cox, Julie Cox Davis (Jeff); Nikkie Poland (Chad); Kelly Kaunisto (Joel); Jennifer and Matt Quinlan and Carey and Brice Button; six great-grandchildren; four brothers: Glen Cox (Margaret), Arnold Cox (Audrey), and Don Cox (Louise), all of Glasgow and Billy Cox (Abby) of Indiana; two sisters: Frances Cooper of Glasgow and Lucille Short of Indiana; and a brother-in-law, Preston Thomas of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nelda Thomas; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Cooper.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.

Arnold Vincent Logsdon

LOUISVILLE — Arnold Vincent Logsdon, 70, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at the St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.

He was a Hart County native, the son of the late John and Velma Puckett Logsdon. He was a custodian at Caritas Hospital and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by three sisters: Deborah Whelen and Brenda Sanders, both of Louisville, and Bonita Richie of Memphis, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gurvis Logsdon, and by one sister, Lillie Mae Willis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in Wilkerson Temple Cemetery.



Barty Robertson

SHADY GROVE — Barty Robertson, 53, passed away at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was a Barren County native, the owner-operator of Robertson and Sons Construction Company and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Robertson and Rosa M. Compton Robertson; a sister: Virginia Gordon; and his grandmother, Molly Compton. Barty was an exemplary family man, caring and devoted husband, affectionate and protective father, a philosopher and guide to all his family and friends circle. His memories will linger in our hearts forever.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie (JoAnn) Robertson, Shady Grove; two sons: Tommy Robertson and Brandon Robertson, Shady Grove; six brothers: Terry Robertson and wife Irene, Cecil Robertson and wife Ramona, Ronnie Robertson and wife Theresa, Tony Robertson and wife Caroline, Charlie Robertson and wife Sue, and Howard Robertson and wife Mary; two sisters: Carol Gassaway and husband David, and Doris Huff and fiance Larry; his mother-in-law: Letha Fulkerson of Munfordville; and a sister-in-law: Judy Simon and husband Terry; several nieces and nephews, including a (special) niece, Sonia Simon.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, under the direction of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave. Burial will be in Whickerville Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Winn Funeral Home, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church.

LOUISVILLE — Frances Loraine (Harlow) Bartley, 79, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. today (Friday). GLASGOW — Robert E. “Bobby” Biggers Jr., 77, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Friday) at Glenview Christian Church. Burial, with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20, will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. LOUISVILLE — Wanda R. Eaton, 76, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at Jewish Hospital – Shelbyville. Her Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. today (Friday). Memorial contributions may be made to: Melbourne Heights Baptist Church.



KETTERING, Ohio — Jerena A. Lotts, 68, formerly of Glasgow, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at her residence. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Henderson Cemetery at Finney. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon Saturday until service time. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to BRAWA (Barren River Animal Welfare Association) in Jerena’s memory.
