Ralph David Atwell

HORSE CAVE — Ralph David Atwell, 55, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital Emergency Room.

He was born in Virginia, was a member of the Baptist faith and a supervisor for Walmart in Glasgow.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Atwell of Horse Cave; two daughters: Stefanie Esters and husband Bobby of Cave City, and Destiny Atwell of Horse Cave; two sons: Sean Atwell of Cave City, and Brandon Coomer of Horse Cave; his parents, Ralph and Anita Atwell of Horse Cave; one brother: Timmy Atwell and wife Cindy of Rowletts; and one nephew, Ryan Atwell of Rowletts.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after noon on Sunday until funeral time.

Ruth Ann Bunch Cayton

SMITHS GROVE — Ruth Ann Bunch Cayton, 60, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at The Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Chester Bunch and Venus Carter Bunch, who survives. Other survivors include her husband, Bobby Cayton.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel, with burial in Hays Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Ardie Ann Deckard

TOMPKINSVILLE — Ardie Ann Deckard, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Dave Cropper and Sarah Dyer Cropper and wife of the late Rex A. Deckard.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Strode Funeral Home, in Tompkinsville, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the William B. Harlan Memorial Library or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.



Barry Douglas Hughes

PARK CITY — Barry Douglas Hughes, 43, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Park City.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, but are under the direction of Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel.



L.T. Jolly

HORSE CAVE — L.T. Jolly, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

He was a Barren County native, a retired auto mechanic for Dee & Jay Motor Company, a U.S. Navy Seebee veteran of World War II, having served in Guam, and a member of the Horse Cave Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Diane Thomas Jolly; his wife, Nell Lois Bowman Jolly; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include a son: Donald L. Jolly and wife Shirley of Horse Cave; granddaughter: Leeann Martin and husband Douglas of Westerville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to The American Heart Association or Horse Cave Baptist Church.

Ethan Strode

TOMPKINSVILLE — Ethan Strode, 17, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

Ethan was born Sept. 28, 1992, to Greg and Janie Faber Strode. Ethan was a junior at Monroe County High School.

Ethan is survived by his parents: Greg and Janie Faber Strode; one brother: Cameron Strode; paternal grandparents: Harley and Runelle Strode, all of Tompkinsville; maternal grandparents: Duke and Betty Faber of Louisville; and paternal great-grandmother, Bina Strode of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Monroe County High School with Brother Darrick Proffitt, Brother Lewis Blythe and Brother Billy Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the high school, and Sunday, Jan. 10, after 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ethan Strode Family Fund, through Edmonton State Bank, which will be used for a scholarship in Ethan’s honor.

GLASGOW — Charles Richard Ballard, 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the family.



GLASGOW — Royce Bruton, 60, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.



BOWLING GREEN — Bob McCoy Eudy, 74, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Chapel Inc., Broadway Chapel, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home.



BOWLING GREEN — Wanda Walker, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at the Magnolia Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Jan. 12, at T.W. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Scottsville, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Scottsville First United Methodist Church.



PARK CITY — Carol M. White, 58, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation continues until 8 p.m. today (Friday), and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
