GLASGOW — Michael George Edward (Mike) Garrett

SUMMER SHADE — Michael George Edward (Mike) Garrett, age 48 of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at his home. He was a son of the late Paul and Mary Gentry Garrett and was an employee of Dana Mfg. for twenty-four years and retired from Green Mechanical. He attended Crossland Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Gentry Garrett; one son, Travis Coe Garrett, of Summer Shade; one step son, Dillian Potts of Greensburg; four brothers, Steve (Sandy) Garrett of Bowling Green, Kenny (Cheryl) Garrett of Mt. Hermon, Mark (Alecia) Garrett of Summer Shade and Anthony Garrett of Glasgow; two sisters, Rendy (Ronnie Joe) Perkins of Glasgow and Marketta Acree of Edmonton; his mother and father-in-law, Donnie and Betty Gentry of Greensburg and brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Melinda Gentry of Union, Ky., several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robbie Garrett and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Matry Gentry and paternal grandparents, Henry and Media Garrett.

Funeral services will be Friday Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thurs. Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.



Sarah Frances (Bunch) Shockley

BOWLING GREEN — Sarah Frances (Bunch) Shockley, age 86, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Fountain Run passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Bowling Green, KY. The Farmers City, IL native was the daughter of the late Charlie Howard and Flossie Victoria (Williams) Bunch. She married her husband of 54 years, Wallace J. Shockley, May 30, 1953, in Andalusia, AL, who preceded her in death January 5, 2008. Other than her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlyne Ogden. Sarah graduated from Glasgow High School in 1943 and retired from Washington Overall Manufacturing Company in Scottsville, KY. She was a member of the Fountain Run First Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the WMU, and the church treasurer for ten years. She was a 50 year member of the Fountain Run Woman’s Club serving in numerous leadership roles and also a member of the Flippin Homemakers. She was selected Woman of the Year for the Woman’s Club. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Fountain Run First Baptist Church with Brother Hermon Wilkins and Brother Ron Norrod officiating. Burial will follow in the Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. at the Fountain Run Funeral Home and she will lie in state at the church after 9 a.m. Friday morning till service time at 11 a.m. Her survivors include, children, Vana Vincent (Perry) of Bowling Green, KY and Dr. Alben Shockley (Joanna) of Owensboro, KY, sisters, Ruth West of Hartwell, GA, Nettie Furlong of Glasgow, KY, Betty Lyons (Earl) of Lutz, FL and Lucy Gray (Marshall) of Austin, KY, brother-in-law, Bruce Ogden of Groveland, FL, five grandsons, Adam Vincent (Andrea) of Bowling Green, KY, Luke, James, Paul and Bryce Shockley all of Owensboro, KY, great-grandson, James Vincent, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Judy Landrum

FRANKLIN — Ms. Judy Landrum, age 84 of Franklin, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Shiloh Cemetery in Allen County. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Rector Yates and Nannie Willoughby Yates. She was a clerk at the former Arnold Drug Company in Franklin. Survivors include four children – William Ogles of Glasgow, Bobby Ogles of Glasgow, Betty Raines of Franklin and Gerald Ogles of Franklin; one brother – Elree Yates of Scottsville; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. CUB RUN – Rachel E. Trulock, 74, of Cub Run, died Oct. 1, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cherry Springs Cemetery, Cub Run.

CAVE CITY – Freda Jean Sturgeon, 56, of Cave City, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, in Bowling Green. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel with burial in New Hope Church Cemetery.

GLASGOW – Joe R. Baise, 67, of Glasgow, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW – Loyd S. Woodcock, 90, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m.
