Russell W. Buckner
MUNFORDVILLE – Russell W. Buckner, 81, of Munfordville, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at his home.
A son of the late Robert and Greathel Johnson Buckner, he was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Hart County.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise Tennyson Buckner.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 20, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with Brother Ben Benningfield, Brother Paul Grider, Brother Curtis Slinker and Chad Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Munfordville Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 until 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, until time for services.
Laverne Hanson
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Laverne Hanson, 79, of Hattiesburg, (formerly of Glasgow), died July 17, 2012, at Hattiesburg Health and Rehab.
There will be a gathering of friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
Mrs. Hanson retired from Farm Credit Services after 40 years of dedicated service and will be greatly missed. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hanson; parents, Mable and L.C. McGuire; brothers, Jimmy McGuire and Ken McGuire; sisters, Reba Wilson, Elsie Nunn, Helen Pace and Mary Lou Duncan.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather Hanson Richey and Jeff A. Richey and a grandson, Charles Jeffrey Richey, all of Hattiesburg. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary McGuire and Janette McGuire, both of Glasgow, and Doretha (Charles) Bensenhaver of Louisville; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Janiece Harlow Ballard
LOUISVILLE – Janiece Harlow Ballard, 92, of Louisville, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Regis Woods Care in Louisville.
She was born in Glasgow the daughter of the late Gillum C. and Linnie Barbour Harlow. She was the wife of the late William Ballard.
She is survived by a sister, Dartha Harlow Dennis, of Glasgow; four nieces, three nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Verla Harlow Sims and three brothers, Willard, Ewell and U.G. Harlow.
Mrs. Ballard chose cremation and no services are scheduled at this time. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

PRICEVILLE – Gracie Lee Hodges, 88, of Priceville, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Kensington Manor Care & Rehab Center in Elizabethtown.
Gracie was the last surviving child of Jim and Betty Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Hodges.
Funeral services for Gracie Lee Hodges will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Center Point Baptist Church with Brother Paul Hawkins, Brother Joel Thompson and Brother Bill White officiating. Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at Sego Funeral Home.

HORSE CAVE – Elsie Sublett Wilson, 73, of Horse Cave, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at her residence in Horse Cave.
She was the daughter of the late Garfield Sublett and the late Betty F. Garnett Sublett.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home, with Dr. Michael Rice and Reverend Bradley Lewis officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cave City.
