GLASGOW — Reva Irene Hammer Bray

TOMPKINSVILLE – Reva Irene Hammer Bray, 90, of Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at the Monroe County Medical Center.

Reva was born in Monroe County on Aug. 20, 1921, to the late Joseph and Ethel Davis Hammer. Reva married Farris Glen Bray in Glasgow on Sept. 23, 1943. She was a housewife and member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.

Reva is survived by one daughter, Linda Faye Jones; two sons, Jackie Bray and Douglas Hammer, both of Tompkinsville; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nell Vance Boston of Glasgow.

Reva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Farris Glen Bray; one daughter, Nancy Marie Propes; three brothers, Richard Hammer, James Edward Hammer and Roger Dale Hammer; three sisters, Bertha Hammer, Anna Kate Flike and Lola Mae Childs.

Funeral service will be Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home with Brother John Osgatharp and Kirk Dodson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Sunday after 6 a.m. at the funeral home.



Mary Carver

GLASGOW — Mrs. Mary Lucille Duvall Carver, 91, of Glasgow, and formally of Albany, passed away Thursday, Jan., 26, 2012, at her residence in Glasgow. She was a school teacher for many years in Clinton and Barren counties.

Mary Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Terry Carver, and is survived by her sister, Pickens Duvall Moran, and her brother, Billy (Pat) Duvall, all of Albany; four nieces, Lucille Cooper Burton, Sarah Moran Halcomb, Carolyn Moran DePalma and Patricia L. Duvall; three nephews, William M. Moran, Fred W. Cooper Sr. and William D. Duvall.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan., 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Albany Cemetery in Clinton County. Visitation will be Saturday after 4 p.m.

Dennis Michael Gulley

GLASGOW – Dennis Michael Gulley, 60, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at his residence.  Born in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Louie Ottis Gulley and Jessie F. Carver Gulley of Indianapolis, Ind., who survives.  

Mr. Gulley was a member of the Point of Grace Church and a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving in the U. S. Army.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathy Decker Gulley of Glasgow; daughter, Tonia Clapp (Robert) of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Emily, Caleb, Matthew and Willow Clapp; two brothers, Jerry Gulley and Terry Gulley (Alley), both of Indianapolis; a sister, Sheila Spears of Indianapolis; and two nieces, Malena and Serenity, also survive.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in  Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by D.A.V. Chapter #20. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Judy Faye Jaggers

HORSE CAVE – Judy Faye Jaggers, 58, of Horse Cave, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late William Dick Jaggers and Ruby Hazelwood Jaggers.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Northtown United Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the church.

Donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.



Mark Wayne Long

MORGANTOWN – Mark Wayne Long, 57, of Morgantown, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

He was the son of Billy Lee Long, who survives, and the late Lena Mae Wiley Long.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Berea Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Olene Wade McPherson

TOMPKINSVILLE  – Olene Wade McPherson, 86, of Tompkinsville, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Monroe Health & Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.

She was the daughter of the late Levie Thomas “Jack” Wade and Leta Kesslar Wade and wife of the late Reed McPherson.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Strode Funeral Home with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Harvey Cemetery.



Betty Morford

BONNIEVILLE — Betty J. Mouldon Morford, 63, of Bonnieville, died 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at her home after an illness.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Victoria Parker.

Funeral Services will be private under direction of Winn Funeral Home Horse Cave. There will be no public visitation.



Samuel Thompson

GLASGOW — Samuel Edward “Fooman” Thompson II, 34, of Glasgow, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Born in Greensburg, KY he is the son of Samuel Edward and Louise Turner Thompson of Greensburg who survives. Mr. Thompson was a mechanic at Bill Jones Alignment in Glasgow.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Angela Turner Thompson of Glasgow; two children Hunter and Caraline Thompson; five sisters Jackie Bennett (J.W.), Sherri Larimore (Tim), Deborah Hall (Bill), Joanie Chaney and Becky Benningfield (Larry); two brothers Billy Joe Thompson and Timmy Thompson (Diane); father-in-law Ricky Turner (Donna); mother-in-law Judy Turner and a special niece Kate Larimore.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Sam Thompson Benefit Fund at South Central Bank 208 S. Broadway Glasgow, KY 42141.
