GLASGOW — Brian Y. Hamburg

MUNFORDVILLE — Brian Y. Hamburg, 44, of Munfordville, died at 5:34 p.m. Thursday,  July 12, 2012, at his home.

He was a son of the late Huston and Matilda Brown Hamburg.

Funeral services for Brian Y. Hamburg will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, in the Chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with burial in Concord Cemetery.

Visitation is in progress, and will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the Sego Funeral Home.



Henry Wayne Haire

MUNFORDVILLE — Henry Wayne Haire, 62, of Munfordville, died Thursday July 12, 2012, at Caverna Hospital in Horse Cave.

He was the son of the late James and Lorene Fisher Haire and was employed at DART Container in Horse Cave.  

He was survived by his wife, Karen Haire, of Munfordville; one son, Douglas Wayne Haire, of Park City; one daughter, Ruthie (Donald) Gray, of Glasgow; one brother, Bobby Haire, of Glasgow; two sisters, Ruthie Goodhew and Debra Haire, both of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Larissa Haire, of Cave City, and Brooklyn Gray, of Glasgow; one great-grandchild, Kenley Lutterman, of Cave City, three step-sons, Brian Abbett, of Columbus, Ind., Robert Abbett, of Brownsville, and Matthew Armstrong, of Cave City; eight step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren also survive.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Bonnie Haire; one brother, Frank McBride; and one sister, Betty Perry.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Locust Grove Cemetery in Knob Lick. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Beatrice Louise Jewell

HORSE CAVE — Beatrice Louise Jewell, 75, of Horse Cave, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at her home. She was born in Barren County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward F. Morgan and Sylvia Woodcock Morgan; and her husband of 49 years, Joe (Bully) Jewell.

Funeral services will be at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, July 15, 2 p.m., with burial in Cosby Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 14, from 3 until 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Sunday until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy made be made in the form of donations to: Hospice T. J. Samson Community Hospital Home Care Program, 1301 North Race Street, Glasgow, Ky. 42141-3483.



Mamie Louise Birge McIntyre

SUMMER SHADE — Mamie Louise Birge McIntyre, 73, of Summer Shade, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at U of L Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late Elbert Tom and Clara Vance Birge. She was a homemaker and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jessie McIntyre; one daughter, Bonita (Jason) Poore, of Glasgow; one brother, Howard (Evie) Birge, of Austin Tracy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry McIntyre; sisters, Irma Copas and Lois England; and brothers, Ewell, Horace, Mervin, Lee and Edgar Birge.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 15, at 2 p.m. at White Chapel, with Brother Taylor Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday, July 14, at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Grace Muse

GLASGOW — Grace Muse, 76, of Glasgow, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at U of L Hospital in Louisville.

She was the daughter of the late James Elvin and Lola Ann Norris Turner.  

She is survived by three sons, Joe Muse, of Glasgow, Greg Muse, of Bon Ayr, and Gary Muse, of Edmonton; one daughter, Debbie Compton, of Glasgow; one brother, Otis Turner, of Bowling Green; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Kenneth Hugh Shirley Sr.

LOUISVILLE — Kenneth Hugh Shirley Sr., 62, formerly of Glasgow, died recently at his residence in Louisville.

The Barren County native was a son of the late Hugh and Beatrice Jesse Shirley and was an employee of the Bemis Packing Company.

He is survived by six children, Kenneth H. Shirley Jr., Lisa Shirley, Teresa Kuhl, Joseph Shirley, Dana Kauphusman and Seth Shirley; five brothers, Clarence Shirley, Paul Shirley, Howard Shirley, Richard Shirley and Ron Shirley; four sisters, Ruby Dulworth, Sue Jones, Janice Euliss and Joyce Wolf; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family chose cremation. A memorial service will be at a later date. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
