GLASGOW — Helen Jenene Garmon Brown

KNOB LICK – Helen Jenene Garmon Brown, 68, of Knob Lick, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Sky Rehab in Bowling Green.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ruby Byrd Garmon. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brown,

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery.   

Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.   



Rex Childress

CAVE CITY – Rex Childress, 83, of Cave City, formerly of Cub Run, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave.

He was a son of the late Oscar and Sally Alvey Childress. Mr. Childress was a retired farmer and a retired forest ranger with the Forestry Division of Kentucky. He attended Rocky Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Emma; one son, Jerry Childress and wife Faye, of Glasgow; two daughters, Sherry E. Childress, of Bowling Green, and Loretta Pickerel and husband Mike, of Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Linda Childress, of Munfordville; stepson, Larry Beard, of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Childress; a stepson, Dean Beard; three brothers, Bennie, James and Martin Childress; and two sisters, Juanita Cox and Corine Thompson.

Funeral services for Rex Childress will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with burial in Smith Cemetery at Priceville.

Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Christopher Scott Hagan

HARDYVILLE – Christopher Scott Hagan, 33, of Hardyville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Hagan, and his mother, Carolyn Hagan, of Hardyville.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with burial in Pearl Webb Cemetery at Canmer. Visitation will be Friday from 3 until 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Kosair Children’s Hospital.



Lemmuel Thomas Martin

GLASGOW – Lemmuel Thomas Martin, 83, of Glasgow, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.

He was born in California, the son of the late Roy B. and Arlene Jones Martin.

Mr. Martin was retired from the Chrysler Corp. in Indianapolis. After retirement and moving to Glasgow, he was a farmer and also a television repairman. He was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ at Eighty Eight.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Morgan Martin; one son, Tom Martin (Teresa), of Bowling Green; two grandsons, Travis and Trevor Martin, of Bowling Green; two sisters, Lavaune Carter (Harold) and Loretta Bybee (Edsel), both of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is in progress, and will continue Thursday morning until time for the service.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Lung Association.

Gaynell Mae Milburn

FOUNTAIN RUN – Gaynell Mae Milburn, 93, of Fountain Run, a resident of Barren County Health Care, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, in Glasgow.

The Monroe County native was the daughter of the late W.B. and Velma (Samson) Johnson. She married Roy Milburn April 5, 1932, in Jeffersonville, Ind., who preceded her in death July 5, 1990. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Emons Johnson.

Survivors include, son, Roger Milburn and special friend Jean Pursley, of Fountain Run; granddaughter, Dana Brown (Tony); great-grandson, Jacob Brown, all of the Lamb Community; nephew, Mike Johnson (Sandy), of Fountain Run, and a host of cousins.

Funeral services for Gaynell Mae Milburn will be conducted Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Fountain Run Funeral Home. Brothers William B. Bunch and Joey R. Bunch will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.

Visitation with the family is in progress at the funeral home and will continue Thursday after 8 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. The family requests memorials made to Union or Neal Cemetery.
