Sue Turner Calvert
SCOTTSVILLE — Sue Turner Calvert, 76, died at Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at her residence.
The Cave City native was a 1951 graduate of North Warren High School, attended Christian College in Columbia, Mo., and graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1972. She was a retired employee of the Allen County School System where she taught for 24 ½ years. She was a member of New Life Fellowship Church, the Gideon Auxiliary, Allen County Retired Teachers and was the first president of the Scottsville Woman’s Club.
She was a daughter of the late J. Paul Turner and Nellie Isenberg Turner Steen. Sue was raised in Smiths Grove by her aunt and uncle: Julian H. Bohannon and Nettie “Hooti” Isenberg Bohannon Clemens.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Cecil W. Calvert, Scottsville; two sons: Joey Wayne Calvert Sr. and wife, Marie, and Mark Jay Calvert, all of Scottsville; two daughters: Shannon C. Warren, Scottsville, and Leanne Calvert-Hurd, Austin, Texas; five grandchildren: Joey Calvert Jr., Bevin Warren, Miranda Cardona, Spencer Hurd and Harrison Hurd; three sisters: Judith Ann Bohannon Lalley and husband, Patrick, Chantily, Va., Jeanette White Bohannon McCann and husband, Dennie, Chambersburg, Pa., and Janice Kay Bohannon, Bowling Green; two step brothers: Joseph Steen and wife, Sara, Louisville, and Doug Steen and wife, Joyce, Glasgow; one step sister: Sue Steen Pedigo and husband, Don, Glasgow; one sister-in-law: Joyce Lindsey Turner, Smiths Grove; an aunt: Dorothy Turner, Tompkinsville; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: James Lewis Turner and Aaron Paul Turner.
Memorial service for Sue Turner Calvert will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at New Life Fellowship Church with the Rev. Mark Parker and the Rev. Brian Bonney officiating and private burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Fellowship Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue Turner Calvert’s memory to the Gideons Bible Program.

GLASGOW — Tommy Cox, 61, died Wednesday night, Sept. 23, 2009, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
His arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

TOMPKINSVILLE — Dealie Vell Adams Hale died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Monroe County Health Care.
She was the daughter of the late Joe and Neomi Fox Adams and wife of the late Roy Edward Hale.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Rola James West
BOWLING GREEN — Rola James West, 84, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Greenview Regional Hospital.
He was the son of the late Ervie West and Ida Lawrence West and husband of the late Charlene Jones West.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Interment will be in Hayden Cemetery, Park City. GLASGOW — Jeffrey Thomas Foster, 59, died suddenly Monday morning, Sept. 21, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation continues today (Thursday) at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home until 8 p.m. and on Friday at Glasgow Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until time for the service.
