Thomas K. ‘Tommy’ Cox

GLASGOW — Thomas K. "Tommy" Cox, 61, died Wednesday Sept. 23, 2009, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

He was born in Frederick, Md., the son of Arnold and Audrey Kline Cox, of Glasgow, who survive.

Tommy was an electrical contractor and co-owner of Division XVI in Glasgow. He was a member of Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green and was a member of the Kentucky National Guard 623rd FA in Glasgow for seven years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Peggy Martin Cox; two sons: Kevin Cox and wife Cary of Bowling Green and Brian Cox and wife Jennifer of Glasgow; one daughter: Melanie Austin and husband John of Alabama; seven grandchildren: Cate and Emma Cox, Carson and MacKenzie Cox and Dillon, Faith and Audra Austin; one brother: Allen Cox and wife Juanita of Bowling Green; one sister: Teresa Martin and husband Tom of Bowling Green; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hillvue Heights Church Building Fund, 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101; or the PKD Foundation, 9221 Ward Parkway, STE 400, Kansas City, MO 64114.

Herbert Monroe ‘Roe’ Logsdon

HISEVILLE — Herbert Monroe “Roe” Logsdon, 59, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

A son of the late Joe and Hattie Pearl Gulley Logsdon, he was a farmer, a former employee of Barren River Fertilizer and a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean Garmon Logsdon; one son, Adam Logsdon of Hiseville; two daughters: Mikia Logsdon of Hiseville and Julie Young and husband, Jeff, of Edmonton; two grandchildren: Christopher Young and Crystal Young; one brother, Andy Logsdon and wife, Anna, of Horse Cave; three sisters: Martha Thomas (Doug) and Ann Wheeler (Richard), all of Glasgow, and Sarah Hornback (Steve) of Munfordville; brother-in-law, Earl Duvall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jay Logsdon; and two sisters, Louise Duvall and Mary Jo Logsdon.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Big Meadow Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Howard Lewis Parrish

SUMMER SHADE — Howard Lewis Parrish, 71, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at his home.

He was a farmer and attended the Edmonton United Methodist Church. Howard was the son of the late Fred D. and Sadie Burton Garmon Parrish.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Edmonton United Methodist Church with burial in Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Thompson Parrish; three children: Terry (Sandra) Parrish of Summer Shade, Debbie (Eddie) Hensley of Summer Shade and Melody (Donnie) Coomer of Randolph; six grandchildren: Brad and Derek Hensley, Tony Tinsley, Kyle, Tyler and Emma Coomer; two sisters: Lucille Scott of St. Cloud, Fla., and Virginia (Jesse) Meredith of Bowling Green; two brothers: Carline (Edna) Parrish of Glasgow, Bob (Ilean) Parrish of Morgantown. Howard is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Piercy Parrish.

SCOTTSVILLE — Sue Turner Calvert, 76, died at Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at her residence. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Fellowship Church with private burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue Turner Calvert’s memory to the Gideons Bible Program. Goad Funeral Home, Scottsville, is in charge of the arrangements.



BOWLING GREEN — Rola James West, 84, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Greenview Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home.



PARK CITY — Norman Neal Davidson, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Park City. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. today (Friday) at Zion Hill Baptist Church with interment in Hayden Cemetery, Park City. Burnam & Son Mortuary, Inc., 201 Center St., Bowling Green, is in charge of arrangements.
