William Robert Beard
EDMONTON — William Robert Beard, 93 of Goodlettsville, TN died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 in Springfield, TN. He was a retired Cabinet Maker and son of the late Weeden and Dora Lambirth Beard formerly of the Knob Lick Community in Metcalfe County.
Mr Beard was a World War II veteran and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the VanZant Cemetery at Knob Lick. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. William Robert Beard is survived by his wife, Eva Wheeler Beard, of Goodlettsville; two sons, John William Beard of Goodlettsville and Timothy Edward Beard of Collegedale, TN; two daughters, Elizabeth Jones of Chloe, WV and Sarah Evelyn Wheeler of Seattle, WA; three sisters, Ruth Huffman and Mary Edna Porter, both of Glasgow, and Evelyn Ratay of Collegeville, IL, he is also survived by four grandchildren.

Murphy Demunbrun
GLASGOW — Murphy Moran Demunbrun, 80, of Glasgow, died Friday Oct. 2, 2009 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born in Edmonson County the son of the late Truman H. Demunbrun and Blance Skaggs Demunbrun of Glasgow who survives. Mr. Demunbrun was retired from the Goodyear Tire Company after 28 years. He was the former director fo the Glasgow Senior Citizens Center for 20 years and was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church since 1965 where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher and also a former member of the church choir. Murphy was a mason in the Edmonson County Masonic Lodge and former member of the Caveman Barbershop Chorus. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed travel.
Survivors include his mother Blanche Demunbrun of Glasgow; his wife, Lou Ellen Howard Demunbrun; 3 daughters Alexis Bowman (Kenny), Michelle Demunbrun and Charlotte Glass (Larry) all of Glasgow; 2 sons Murphy Demunbrun, Jr. (Lori) and Tim Demunbrun both of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren: Clay Stovall, Ann Phelps, Amy Durbin, Alex Bowman, Colleen Richardson, Hilliary Demunbrun, Hannah Demunbrun, and Dean, Connor and Nelson Glass, and 3 great-grandchildren: Rayne Stovall, Claudia Phelps and Noelle Durbin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Weldon Demunbrun.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday Oct. 5, 2009 at the Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from noon until 8 pm and on Monday at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. before moving to the Glasgow Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until time for the service.

William J. McDaniel
GLASGOW — William J. McDaniel, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at the Glenview Healthcare Center in Glasgow.
Born in Jellico, Tenn., he was the son of the late Charles and Lucy Sabens McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force, and was a retired music teacher at the high school and college level.
Survivors include his wife, Florence McDaniel of Glasgow; two sons: Wayne McDaniel (Cynthia) of New York City and Bruce McDaniel of Nashville, Tenn.; a grandson: Morgan McDaniel of New York City; a sister: Jo Scott of Horse Cave; and a brother: Kenneth McDaniel of Glasgow.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, David and Frank McDaniel.
A private graveside service was held on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Carl “Dale” Norman
GLASGOW — Carl “Dale” Norman, 83, son of the late Carvel “Red” Norman and Zona Walker Norman, died peacefully at his home in Glasgow on Oct. 2, 2009 after a brief illness.
A native of Tompkinsville, he was retired from T. J. Samson Community Hospital and was a former member of the Glasgow City Council, where he had served for 20 years. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy in the Philippines during WWII. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where he also served as Deacon for many years and was presently attending Little Bethel Baptist Church.
Dale is survived by Maxine, his beloved wife of 60 years; his five children, Sharon (David) Hall, Larry Norman, Vickie Gaston, Pam (Mike) Goad and Stacy (Larry) Hammer all of Glasgow; his ten grandchildren, Jeff (Kathy) Hall, Sherri (Tim) Myers, Angela (Lee) Lindsey, Alison (Patrick) Ross, Terri (Khris) Medcalfe, Derek Hogue, Nicole (Jared) Pursley, Leslie (Brent) Spillman, Matthew and Nicholas Reed; his twelve great-grandchildren, Savannah, Tyler and Taylor Hall, Michela Page, Sierra Harper, Allen, Lane and Jared Dale Myers, Logan Lindsey, Ellie Ross, Morgan Medcalfe and Tate Spillman; his two great-great-grandchildren, Allana Rose Bailey and Preston Page; one brother, Keith (Liz) Norman of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James “Guy” Norman, Rondall “Bully” Norman, Jerry Norman and Bobby Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Donald L. Perry
HORSE CAVE — Donald L. Perry, 74, of Horse Cave, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Glasgow.
He was born in Metcalfe County and was the former owner and operator of Perry’s Concrete and a member of the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arville and Callie Slinker Perry, his wife of 48 years, Betty Perry, two brothers, his twin Ronald Perry and Daron Perry and a sister, Ruth O’Saile.
Survivors include three daughters, Pitsey Thompson (Harlie) of Glasgow, Treva Coffey (J.R.) of Vine Grove, and Gayle Hutchinson of West Point; four grandchildren, Christopher McCawley, of Muldrough, Donnie Perry of West Point, Becky Lois Warren (Chris) of Brandenburg, and Byron Logsdon (Melissa) of Horse Cave.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial in the Bowles Cemetery in Center.
Visitation is Sunday after noon until 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Everett T. Tidwell
BOWLING GREEN — Everett T. Tidwell, 90, of Madison, Ala. formerly of Bowling Green and Clay, died peacefully on Sept. 30, 2009 at Crestwood Medical Center in Hunstville, Ala.
He is the son of the late William Henry Tidwell and Sally Wilhoite Tidwell and was the husband of the late Alice Marie Frederick Tidwell.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Hardy & Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation is Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Carole Vibbert
FOUNTAIN RUN — Carole Vibbert, 61, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
She was the wife of Carlie Faye Vibbert, who survives.
Complete funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they are finalized by the Vibbert family.
Hughes Funeral Chapel, in Fountain Run, is in charge of arrangements.
