William ‘Red’ Belcher
GLASGOW – William “Red” Belcher, 81, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the NHC Healthcare facility in Glasgow.
Born in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Daniel Eugene and Laura Smith Belcher. Mr. Belcher was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and a former employee of the Central Lumber Company and was retired from Sorenson Mfg. and Barren River State Park.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Rose Mesker Belcher of Glasgow; a son, Freddie Belcher (Betty) of Glasgow; two daughters, Patricia Morgan and Kim Belcher, both of Glasgow; a son-in-law, Glen Morgan of Glasgow; a brother-in-law, Tom Mesker (Brenda) of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Gloria Smith (Kevin), Sandra Belcher (Mike Mosley), Crystal Morgan (Joe Cary) and Jacob Nahorniak; a step-grandson, Allen Hagan (Nita); two great-grandsons, Mason and Trace Smith; a step-great-granddaughter, Ashley Hagan; a half-sister, Elizabeth Wooten (James) of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Morgan; a stepbrother, Raymond Jackson; a great-grandson, Cornelius Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
James Louis “Lou” Ellis
GLASGOW — James Louis Ellis or "Lou Ellis" 82 of Glasgow died Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born February 1, 1927 in Cadiz, KY, his parents Luther and Lois Ellis brought Lou to Glasgow when he was 3 years old. Lou attended high school at Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, TN before going to the Navy during World War II. He attended Centre College in Danville, KY where he played football. Since 1957 Lou has operated his photography studio on the public square. His photography specialty was wedding photography, portraits, passports and photo restoration. Lou loved his work.
He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Lois Ellis, his wife of 38 years Beatrice Nunie Ellis and a son Adam Forrest Ellis.
Survivors include his children Vicki Ellis of Albany, NY, Teri Fulkerson of New Castle, PA, Craig Ellis of Glasgow and Alison Weaver of Arlington, WA; three grandchildren Annelise, Beatrice and Elise and a special friend and caregiver Sheri Eubank of Glasgow.
Graveside services will be 12:00pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Sunday 4pm until 8pm, Monday 12pm until 8pm and on Tuesday 10am until Time for services. There will be a Celebration of life service at 6:00pm Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow.
Joyce Huff Harrison
GLASGOW – Joyce Huff Harrison, 69, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Medco Center in Bowling Green.
Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Hallie Harper Huff and the widow of Kenneth Harrison. Mrs. Harrison was a cook for Glasgow Board of Education and Bel-Air Restaurant in Edmonton and member of the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Conner of Glasgow, and Pam Harper of Edmonton; two brothers, Joe and Junior Huff both of Edmonton; one sister, Marie Pedigo of Summer Shade; seven grandchildren, Ashley Ferrell, Thomas Ferrell, Amber Shipley, Nikki Jewell, Wendy Kerney, Holly McCoy, Shelby McCoy; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Youngman; one son, Kenneth Earl Harrison Jr.; two brothers, Wendell and Cecil Huff; and two sisters, Fern Bunch and Gayle Capps.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, and Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, from 9 a.m. until time for services at the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James Donald Hatcher
ELIZABETHTOWN – James Donald Hatcher, 73, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
He was a son of the late Terrell Edwards Hatcher and Vivian Bethel Caton Hatcher.
Funeral service was 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Winn Funeral Home. A private burial followed in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.

Lena Mae Kessinger
MUNFORDVILLE — Lena Mae Kessinger, 90, of Cub Run, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Caverna Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Roseburn to the late George and Annie Thompson Trulock.
Funeral Services for Lena Mae Kessinger will be 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in the Roseburg Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday after 2 p.m. and 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home until the time of the funeral.
Phyllis C. Lile
GLASGOW — Phyllis Caroline Lile, 77, Glasgow, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at the NHC Health Care Center.
A daughter of the late Phil and Ollie Mae Pedigo Roberts, she was married to the late Samuel Reid Lile for 47 years and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was a well-known seamstress, loved playing the piano, and was a long time member of the Antioch Quartet.
She is survived by her children, Keith (Julie) Lile of Danville, KY, Denise (Les) Wilkinson of Port Orange, FL, and Jeff (Marita) Lile of Glasgow; a sister, Roberta Sowers of Glasgow and a brother, Richard (Mary) Roberts of Plainfield, IN; six grandchildren, Kasey Lile, Kelly (Jeremy) Jenkins, Jeremy (Emily) Wilkinson, Leslie (Steve) Walker, Molly (Tag) Taylor, and Becky Lile; six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Grant Lile.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Raymond E. Mills
GLASGOW – Raymond E. Mills, 71, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Charles Blakeman (Blake)
Neville Jr.
PARK CITY – Charles Blakeman (Blake) Neville Jr., 64, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009.
Blake was born on April 8, 1945, to Charles Blakeman Sr. and Emily Justus Neville. He grew up in Park City. He graduated from Park City High School and University of Kentucky. He proudly served in the United States Air Force.
He married his beloved Martha on Dec. 30, 1967. They were blessed with a daughter, Lisa (Rob) Wheeler and a son, James (Amy) Neville, nine grandchildren, Charlie, AnnaRuth, Eli, Stuart and Asa Neville and Mary Katherine, Robert, Christina and Emily Wheeler. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, he is survived by his sister, MaryAnne (Ben) Jaggers; aunt, Virginia Neville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ina Ruth DeFrees; and a brother, James Justis Neville.
He owned Neville Engineering in Nashville, Tenn. Blake was a member of Woodmont Hills Church of Christ in Nashville where he served as an elder.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. with funeral service at 3 p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel.

Lorene Bradford Wilmoth
SONORA – Lorene Bradford Wilmoth, 80, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Baxter, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wilmoth, her parents, six brothers, one sister and a granddaughter, Martie Fulkerson.
She is survived by one son, Terry L. (Winn) Wilmoth of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Linda K. (Larry) Fulkerson of Sonora; one brother, Bobby Bradford of Detroit, Mich.; three grandchildren, Terri Payton, Valarie Wilmoth and Winnie Jo Concevitch; and eight grandchildren, William, Andrew, Brandon, Payton, Carly, Macie, Noah and McKay.
There will be no services.
