Edgar Buford Chaney

SAVOYARD— Edgar Buford Chaney, 58, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was the son of the late Luther Jack and Georgie Gray Chaney.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Houk Cemetery. Visitation continues after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Leonard Hurshel Glass

GLASGOW — Leonard Hurshel Glass, 78, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at his residence.

Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late Orien and Virgie Bunch Glass. Mr. Glass was a member of the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Houchens Glass of Glasgow; two daughters: Tammy Richardson (Steve) of Glasgow and Pam West (Chris) of Radcliff; four grandchildren: Amanda Elmore, Sara Richardson, Brad West and George West; a brother: Kenneth Glass (Joyce) of Lebanon, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters: Louise Broady, Aline Norris, Christine Glass and Iva Mae Glass; and three brothers: Hubert, Avilee and Herman Glass.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with military honors provided by DAV Chapter No. 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Earl E. Wood

GLASGOW — Earl E. Wood 93 of Cave City died Thursday October 29, 2009 at his residence. Born September 31, 1916 in Barren County the son of the late Tom Wood and the late Fannie (Martin) Wood. Mr. wood was a farmer and retired employee of the Glasgow Daily Times. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of the DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Mr. Wood was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Y. (White) Wood of Cave City; 1 daughter Earline Mitchell (Robert) of IN; 4 step sons Peter R. Dodson III of Cave City, Gregory R. Dodson of NC, Wilburn D. Fitzpartrick Jr. (Leslie) of VA. and Larry D. Dodson (Shontelle) of IL.; sister Lula Crewshaw of Glasgow; brother-in-law Horace L. White of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Union Cemetery with military honors provided by the D.A.V. Chapter # 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 11:00am Tuesday at the funeral home.



Susie Lucille Keith

GLASGOW — Susie Lucille Keith, 67, of Glasgow, died Friday, October 30, 2009, in Glasgow.

Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Logan Nichols and Eula Dillard Nichols. She was a homemaker and member of Rolling Hills United Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Matthew Keith of Glasgow; two daughters Laura Boston and Lisa Morgan (Mark) , all of Glasgow; two brothers, G.C. Nichols (Nadine) of Louisville, Ky., and Frank Nichols (Pam) of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Tiffany Rigsby, Misti Davis and Ben Morgan, all of Glasgow.

Mrs. Keith was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Wayne Keith; one brother, Roger Nichols; and a grandson, Joshua Scott.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday, Nov.2, 2009, at Rolling Hills United Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at the church. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.



Carolyn Hope McPherson Kand

TOMPKINSVILLE — Carolyn Hope McPherson Kand, 61, of Tompkinsville, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Wallace McPherson and Ruby Jewel McPherson Proffitt.

Survivors include her husband Paavo Kand.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at Strode Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, 1 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Burial will follow in White Cemetery in Monroe County.

ANDERSON, Ind. — Madie Mardell Grimsley, 82, formerly of this area, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2009, in Indianapolis. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, Summer Shade, with burial in the Lone Star Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.



GLASGOW — Sean Alan Pruitt, 32, went home to be with his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery.
