BOWLING GREEN — Charlene Hawks Lawrence, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Greenview Regional Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Fred Thomas Hawks and Vergie Bishop Hawks and wife of the late Eldon Lawrence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

AUSTIN — Kenneth J. Mattingly Sr., 74, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Westview Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.

Barbara Jean Mills
BOWLING GREEN — Barbara Jean Mills, 64, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of Garnett Edward Harlow and Lettie Frances Hood Harlow. Survivors include her husband, Jessie Mills, of Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Bethel Scott
BURKESVILLE — Bethel Scott, 90, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville.
He was born in Cumberland County on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1919, the son of Jessie Frank and Fannie Belle Murphy Scott. He was a farmer, a carpenter, a member of the Hickory Grove Church of Christ and recently attended the Burkesville Separate Baptist Church.
He addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Alma Blythe Scott; his brother, Jesse Scott; his sisters, Ovie Webb and Onie Poindexter.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Jessie Carl and Eugema Scott of Burkesville, Charles Randol and Hollie Scott of Burkesville; his daughters and sons-in-law: Shelvy Jean and Troy Anderson of Glasgow, Willa Dean Anderson and Jim Miller of Bowling Green, Virginia Mae and Junior Anderson of Glasgow, and Wanda Lee and Keith Fletcher of Bowling Green; his brother, Stanley Scott of New Palestine, Ind.; sisters: Lucy Worth of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elsie Scott of Celina, Tenn.; his aunt, Hattie Stewart of Coatsville, Ind.; his grandchildren: Jennifer Dile, Greg Anderson, Jeff Anderson, Douglas Cain, Chris Anderson, Melissa Williams, Angela Havener, Scott Fletcher, Sarah Kate Scott and William Charles Scott; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Scott will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at 1 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Brother David Irwin and Brother Kenny Stinson officiating. Special music by Larry and Jane Dyer. Burial will be in the Murley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. on Wednesday until the funeral hour on Thursday.

WISDOM — Jimmie Hunter Garmon, 70, of the Wisdom Community in Metcalfe County, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Big Meadow Cemetery. Visitation continues until 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
