LOUISVILLE — Joseph Bow, 35, formerly of Burkesville, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. today (Monday) at the Bow Schoolhouse Cemetery.
Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, of Burkesville, was in charge of arrangements.
S.C. ‘June Bug’ Denton
PARK CITY — S.C. “June Bug” Denton, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Horse Cave.
He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Simon Cidney Denton and Georgia Ann Beshaer Denton and husband of the late Celesta Jean Brown Denton.
He was a member of Cave City Masonic Lodge No. 790 F&AM;, a former Park City mayor and police chief, a member of DAV and Cave City Baptist Church. He was a retired warehouseman for Holley Carburator and a Marine veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one daughter: Frieda Lyons (Bobby) of Glasgow; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ron Denton.
No funeral services or visitation was scheduled. The family chose cremation.

Alma Lorene Murray King
MUNFORDVILLE — Alma Lorene Murray King, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Harvey Lane Murray and Beatrice Wells Murray and wife of the late Edward Lewis King.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today (Monday) in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in Timberlake Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Timberlake Cemetery or to the Hart County Public Library.
Jimmie D. Holder
AUSTIN — Jimmie D. Holder, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Elbridge and Maggie McGinnis Holder. Mr. Holder was a farmer and a charter member of the Austin Tracy Lions Club. He was a member of the Mount Olivet Missionary Baptist Church at Austin.
He is survived by one son: David Holder (Barbara) of Austin; two daughters: Brenda Montgomery (Joe) of Austin and Cindy Minning (Steven) of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren: Michelle Crabtree (Bryan) of Austin, Joe Montgomery III (Felecia) of Lucas and Vickie Alexander (Matt) of Glasgow; seven great-grandchildren, Blake and Britton, Jessie, Taylor Joe, Colton, Bailey and Brooklyn; one sister: Bessie Shanks of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law: Corine Holder of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Elizabeth Chandler Holder; a son, Kenneth Holder; three sisters: Minnie Underwood, Amy Blair and Clara Borders; and four brothers: Davis, Willie, Earl and Roy Holder.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery at Austin. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral home.

Sharen Walden Pursley
TOMPKINSVILLE — Sharen Walden Pursley, 55, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, on the Fred Bartley Road.
She was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Tompkinsville, the daughter of the late Sam Walden and Dane Head Walden. She was a housewife and member of Berea Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son: Adam Pursley of Maryland; one daughter: Sara Hignite of Ohio; a brother: William B. Walden of Russellville; a sister: Dr. Dana Karen Northern of Russellville; and three grandchildren: Caley, Sebastian and Oliver.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Center Point Cemetery. Brother John Osgatharp will officiate. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Gilbert ‘Charlie’ Webb
CLARKSON— Gilbert “Charlie” Webb, 41, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at his residence.
The Barren County native was born Jan. 24, 1963. He was a barge deck hand with Commercial Lines and a member of Broadford Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Webb was a United States Marine Corp veteran.
He was the son of Ruth Alvey Webb, of Munfordville, and the late Gilbert Webb.
He is also survived by four sisters: Ann Webb (Darrell) of Clarkson, Dollie Webb of Munfordville, Marilynn Webb of Danville, and Melinda Bowsher (Michael) of Bluford, Ill.; two brothers: Mack Webb (Amy) Kessinger and Cory Webb of Munfordville; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 9 p.m. today (Monday), and from 9 a.m. to time of services Tuesday, Nov. 17. Funeral services will be at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, with Brother Randall Kessinger officiating. Interment will be at Dorsey Chapel Cemetery, Munfordville.
