Latha Irene Jenkins
BOWLING GREEN — Latha Irene Jenkins, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at a Bowling Green nursing home.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Ballard and Pearl Dovie Dodge Ballard and wife of the late Walter Lee Jenkins.
There will be no funeral services or visitation, cremation was chosen. Burial will be in Okmulgee, Okla.
Hardy & Son Funeral Homes, Inc., Bowling Green, is in charge of arrangements.
Kathryn (Katie) Pruitt
HORSE CAVE — Kathryn (Katie) Pruitt, 76, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of St. Angelo, Texas, retired from Mallory Capacitors, a member of Salem Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and Jefferson Homemakers Club. She was also a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Kathryn loved crocheting, crafts and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dero Varner and Kathryn Lee Varner; her husband, Roger Pruitt Sr.; one sister and one great-granddaughter, Haley Minor.
Survivors include three children: Roger Pruitt Jr. and wife Teresa of Campbellsville, Sharon Karnes and husband Kenneth of Legrande, and Mike Pruitt and wife Sheila of the Big Meadow Community; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one special nephew: Adrian Handley of Livingston, Texas.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation, at the funeral home, is from 3 until 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) and after 9 a.m. Thursday until funeral time.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to either Salem Baptist Church or Hospice of Bowling Green.

CAMPBELLSVILLE — Harry Leon Rice, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at University Hospital in Louisville.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at First Baptist Church, Campbellsville, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at the church.

GLASGOW — Danny Lee Sherfey, 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at his residence.
Arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Julia B. Smith
HORSE CAVE — Julia B. Smith, 97, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at the Hart County Health Care Center.
She was a native of Tennessee, a retired employee of Handmacher and a member of First Christian Church in Glasgow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles D. Bledsoe and Etta Moore Bledsoe; her husband, Carl R. Smith; and a son, Billy Smith.
Survivors include a son: Bobby Smith and his wife, Shirley, Munfordville; granddaughter: Mary Ellen Simmons and her husband, Richard, Franklin; great-granddaughter: Shelby Yokley and her husband, Charlie, Franklin; daughter-in-law: Gelene Smith, Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery Trust Fund.
