Christopher Earl (Petie) Ballard

HORSE CAVE — Christopher Earl (Petie) Ballard, 42, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at his home.

He is the son of Willie and Bonnie Ballard of Horse Cave.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 until 8 p.m. today (Friday) and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Imo P. Baumgardner

UPTON — Imo P. Baumgardner, 69, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at her residence in Upton.

She was a retired teacher and a member of KEA, NEA, American Legion Auxiliary and Upton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson Baumgardner Sr.; her parents, Hollis and Katie Matthews Perkins; one daughter, Roberta Jacqueline Baumgardner; one sister, Lucille Dyer; three brothers, Tommy Perkins, Ormal Perkins and Hershal Perkins; and her fiance, Issac Meredith.

She is survived by two sons: Robert Jackson (Paula) Baumgardner Jr. of Bonnieville, Martin (Karen) Baumgardner of Upton; two daughters: Rose Marie Brown of Elizabethtown, Beany (David) Kemper of Upton; three sisters: Nina Corder of Louisiana, Beth Harper, Lera Mae Kinger, and Rose Mary McCoy, all of Barren County and Waintta Carter of Florida; Grandchildren: Amy Adams, R. J. Baumgardner, Rachael Baumgardner, Rob Brown, Laura Jade Kemper, Hunter Brown, Will Kemper, Reece Baumgardner, Mason Baumgardner and Dalton Baumgardner; great-grandchildren: Brennen Adams and Maddex Adams.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at Upton Baptist Church, in Upton, with the Rev. Jason Glenn and the Rev. Shelby Haire officiating. Burial will be at Glendale Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 20, 2 to 9 p.m. at the Manakee Funeral Home in Upton. Visitation will continue Saturday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m. until time of the service at Upton Baptist Church in Upton.

Druie Brandon Jr.

TOMPKINSVILLE — Druie Brandon Jr., 64, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Druie Brandon Sr., and Alta Goad Brandon.

Survivors include his wife, Lera Jo Brandon of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel, with burial in White Oak Ridge Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation is after 1 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.



Claudia Nelle Johnson

BOWLING GREEN — Claudia Nelle Johnson, 87, formerly of the Lamb community in Barren County, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at her home in Bowling Green.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Theodore and Ruby Brant Atkinson. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church at Lamb.

Survivors include a daughter: Becky Strode and husband Wayne of Bowling Green; a son: Leroy Johnson and wife Brenda of Glasgow; four grandchildren: Wendy Strode of Bowling Green, Brad (Jodi) Johnson of Bee Spring, Leigh Anne (Jerry) Walling of Springhill, Tenn., and Erica Lynn (Jonathan) Devore of Leitchfield; 11 great-grandchildren: Peyton, Ty, Camdyn, Brody and Brayden Johnson; MeKinsey, Johnie Lane and Embry Ford; and Karsyn, Kassidy and Korben Walling. Also surviving is a brother, William David Atkinson of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Johnson; a brother, Edward Atkinson; and two sisters, Lucy Hudson and Sarah Garrett.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home.

Steven Lee Pyron

TULSA, Okla. — Steven Lee Pyron, 60, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.

He is survived by his loving companion, Sheila E. Moon, of Glasgow.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Nov. 20, at 3:30 p.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
