William Micheal Boston
CAVE CITY — William Micheal Boston, 57, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at his home.
Mike was born Nov. 5, 1952, in Metcalfe County, a veteran of the armed forces who served our country proudly. He received the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm as well as several other medals and awards. His military training in transportation led to a lifetime career of long distance big-rig driving. At the end of his career, he remained close to his family staying in the Cave City area. He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Heaven now has a new angel, which brings comfort to his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, James London Boston; his stepmother, Becky Boston; his stepfather, Bob Sanders; and a sister, Donna Sanders.
A loving son, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his mother, Esther Sanders of Cave City. In 1974, he married Mary Ballard and is survived by their daughters, Jennifer Renfroe and Raymond of Phenix City, Ala., Elizabeth Aguero and Jonathan of Stephenville, Texas, and Ginger Jordan of Glasgow; seven grandchildren: Crystal Renfroe, Cassidy Renfroe, Christopher Aguero, Destinee Jordan, Chloe Renfroe, Cameron Aguero and Anthony Jordan; five brothers and three sisters: Becky Parnell and Jimmy of Columbia, Patricia Cooper of Cave City, Gary Sanders of Cave City, Robbie Sanders and Alta of Cave City, Ronnie and Jimmy Boston of Columbia, Betsy Morgan and Michael of Columbia, and Roger Boston and Karen of Center.
A celebration of life service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery, with full military services conducted by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
Visitation at Winn Funeral Home will be from 2 until 9 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday.

Rufus Earl ‘Furl’ Huff Sr.
GLASGOW — Rufus Earl “Furl” Huff Sr., 54, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Bowling Green Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Rufus T. Huff and Nellie Pedigo Huff. He was retired from West Main Sheet Metal and Roofing.
He is survived by his wife: Tammy Houchens Huff; two sons: Rufus Earl Huff II and his wife Amy, Taylor Huff and his wife Tracy; two daughters: Denna Mae Huff, Linda Huff Dunn and her husband Ricky; three stepchildren: Austin, Christopher and Corey; five brothers: Louie Gene Huff, Michael Huff, Russell Huff and his wife Wanda, Larry Huff and his wife Sharon and Alfred Huff; two sisters: Geraldean York and Lela Vaughn and her husband Danny; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frankie Wright Huff; a son, William Joe Huff; a grandchild, Destiny Huff; two sisters: Doris Morgan and Linda Brieschke; one brother: William “Bill” Huff.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ralph Stone Patterson
GLASGOW — Ralph Stone Patterson, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at his home.
He was born in Calloway County, the son of the late William H. and Novella Farris Patterson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Jane Sullivan Patterson, and a sister, Mary Betty Lassiter.
Ralph was a former employee of the Farmers Home Administration for 25 years and retired as vice president after 27 years of service with New Farmers National Bank in Glasgow. He was a graduate of Murray State College, a member of the Lions Club for over 50 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a choir member and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. A veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre of operations as a member of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Traylor Bartley Patterson; two daughters: Ann Patterson of Lexington, and Sue Patterson Humphrey and husband David of Lexington; two step-daughters: Linda Bartley Branstetter and husband Steve of Summer Shade and Kaye Bartley Cardwell and husband Kenny of Bowling Green; six grandchildren: Nancy Humphrey Grayson (Trey) of Walton, Amber Branstetter Huffman (Chris) of Center, Dr. Wendy Humphrey (Chris Van Meter) of Lexington, Bart Branstetter of Summer Shade, Matthew Cardwell of Bowling Green and Jonathan Humphrey of Lexington; four great-grandchildren: Alexandra and Katheryn Grayson and Colton and Cade Huffman; sisters-in-law: Chris Cloyd, and Maude Isenberg and husband Doug.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at First United Methodist Church with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until time for the service.

PARK CITY — Patricia Ann Skaggs Hawkins, 61, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in Glasgow.
