TOMPKINSVILLE — Mayme Dodson Crawford, 85, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be under the direction of Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
James Edward Hobart
GLASGOW — James Edward Hobart, 71, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.
A native of Coldwater, Mich., he was a son of the late Rex Allen Hobart and Crescent Bell Glant Hobart. He was a United States Navy veteran and a retired engineer at GTE. He was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church, where he also served as deacon, was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and a worker with the Awana program that endeavors to teach scriptures to young people. He loved to sing and discuss and share his faith.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Isenberg Hobart; one daughter, Julie Hobart Seagroves of Durham, N.C.; one son, Jerrold “Jerry” Edward Hobart and his wife, Becky, of Glasgow; one grandson, Blake Edward Hobart of Glasgow; one brother, Fred Hobart and his wife, Deanna, of Coldwater, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Glasgow Baptist Church. Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon Saturday at the church.

Marietta Riddle
EDMONTON — Marietta Riddle, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.
She was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Eugenia Knight Vire. She was retired from Sorenson Mfg in Glasgow and a member of Christ the Healer Catholic Church in Edmonton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Christ the Healer Catholic Church with burial in Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation continues after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
She is survived by one son, Charles William Riddle of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters: Vivian Hamilton of Edmonton, Ruth Wileman of Chicago and Arlene Agic of Edmonton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Riddle, and one sister, Eloise Devito.

Ruth Dale Webb
CENTER — Ruth Dale Webb, 84, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood.
She was a native of Metcalfe County, a housewife and a member of the Center Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Allen Matney and Gertrude Frances Harlow Matney; her husband, Matt Webb Jr.; one sister, Ruby Nell Leonard; and by five brothers, Carl Dale, Frank, Bill, Kenneth and Ray Matney.
She is survived by two daughters: Peggy Thurza and her husband George of Edgewood, and Kathy Westerfield and her husband David of Florence; one son: Carl Dale Webb and his wife Debra of Ekron; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Lovie Pennington of Center; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in the Center Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Burial, with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow, will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
