Janie Haney Patterson

EDMONTON — Janie Haney Patterson, 65, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Glenview Health Care in Glasgow.

She was the daughter of the late Elijah Edward and Velma Mae Lewis Ward and wife of the late H.C. Patterson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial on Monday at the Utica Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ind. Visitation continues after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



James G. Searcy

GLASGOW — James G. Searcy, 64, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Portland, Tenn., the son of the late James Oliver Searcy and Myra Frances Harper Searcy of Murfreesboro, Tenn., who survives.

Jim was a graduate of Portland High School in 1963 and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and retired as finance manager for the Glasgow Electric Plant Board. He also was a part time employee for Pharmacy Express and Gilbert and Gilbert CPA’s during tax season. Jim was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ and Glasgow Rotary Club where he served as secretary.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Scott Searcy; his mother, Myra Frances Searcy of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister: Myra O’Steen and husband Joe of Murfreesboro; two nephews: Andrew and Paul O’Steen of Murfreesboro; a sister-in-law: Aileen Bastin of Glasgow; a brother-in-law: Paul Scott of Mooresville, Ind., and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. and Monday morning until time for the service.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the South Green Street Church of Christ Youth Group or the American Cancer Society.

Terry Adam Smith

GLASGOW — Terry Adam Smith, 38, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, as the result of an auto accident on Highway 68-80 in Barren County.

Adam was a native of Hart County, the kitchen manager at Lone Star Restaurant in Bowling Green.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ewing (Ebb) Guinn; his paternal grandfather, Leslie Smith; and an uncle, Herman Allen Smith.

Adam is survived by one son: Trey Alden Smith of Glasgow; his mother, Sharon Guinn of Nashville, Tenn.; his father and step-mother: Terry and Anna Smith of Horse Cave; his sister: Gwynne Leslie Aidala and her husband Jeff of Park City; his brother: Brennan Smith of Horse Cave; his maternal grandmother: Minnie Guinn of Park; his paternal grandmother: Evelyn Smith of Horse Cave; his nephew: Ty Aidala of Park City; his niece: Briley Aidala of Park City; his aunts and uncles: Carman and Terry Martin, Eddie and Faye Guinn, Janice and Bill McCullough, and Gayle Smith. Several cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial in Cosby Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home is from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. on Monday.

GLASGOW — Marilee Settle Lowe, 77, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
