Leslie LeeRoy Avery

CANMER — Leslie LeeRoy Avery, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at his home.

He was the son of Vera Meredith Avery, of Canmer, who survives and the late Clarence Leslie Avery.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, with burial in Cub Run Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until time for services.



Kathy Kay Morrison

SUMMER SHADE — Kathy Kay Morrison, 52, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

She was the daughter of the late Raymond Froedge and Martha Shaw Froedge. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Morrison, and one daughter, Mahogany Morrison, both of Summer Shade; two brothers: Freddie and Billy Froedge, both of Edmonton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Barbara Carol Savage.

Mary E. Roberts

PLAINFIELD, Ind. — Mary E. Roberts, 72, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

She was born in Edmonton on April 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Edgar Howard Sims and Elsie Mae (Thompson) Sims. She was the 1955 salutatorian of Edmonton High School. She had lived in Plainfield for 16 years, in Mooresville, Ind., for 37 years and in Edmonton for 10 years prior. She was a member of Plainfield Baptist Church, loved gardening, cooking and reading. She was owner/operator of Mooresville Flower Shop for 10 years.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Roberts, whom she married on March 16, 1957; two sons: Michael Roberts of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Gregory Roberts of Fishers, Ind.; one granddaughter: Rachel Lynch; one great-granddaughter, Hayle Jade Lynch; and two brothers: James Edward and Phillip Ray Sims.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Reid Sims.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Plainfield Baptist Church, in Plainfield, with Dr. Michael Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Plainfield Baptist Church.

Steven Winter

TOMPKINSVILLE — Steven Winter, 47, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.

He was the son of the late Leanard Gerhard Winter and Nadine Marie Cullingnon Winter.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Christensen Winter.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Neal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

GLASGOW — William Alfred Hill, 62, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.



CAVE CITY — Richard Lynn “Ricky” Minor, 53, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at U of L Hospital, Louisville, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in the Cave City Cemetery.



GLASGOW — Wilma D. Williams, 75, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.
