Dewey A. Barnes

TOMPKINSVILLE — Dewey A. Barnes, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the Monroe Health & Rehab in Tompkinsville.

He was the son of the late Palo Barnes and Nellie Page Barnes. Survivors include his wife, Nelda Pitcock Barnes, of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Athens Baptist Church Building Fund.



Harold Gene Carey

BOWLING GREEN — Harold Gene Carey, 66, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Paul Carey and Desie Birdwell Carey.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Carey, of Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Farnsville Cemetery, Wildersville, Tenn. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. at Farnsville Cemetery.



Virginia Hagan

GLASGOW — Virginia Hagan, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow.

Arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton.



George F. Pitcock Jr.

WALKERTOWN, N.C. — George F. Pitcock Jr., 54, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, in Winston Salem, N.C.

He was the son of the late George F. Pitcock Sr. and Laura Wood Ferguson Pitcock. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.



Roger Dale Rich

TOMPKINSVILLE — Roger Dale Rich, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Elzie Rich and Dolly Crowe Rich.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 1, at 10 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in Moore Cemetery in Clay County, Tenn. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Moore Cemetery.

GLAGSOW — Lois Ward Geralds, 86, died Tuesday night, Dec. 29, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home.



ELIZABETHTOWN — Nancy Duval Neeley Miller, 84, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Horse Cave, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.



PARK CITY — Roxy Louise Lester Perkins, 91, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Barren County Health Care Center, Glasgow. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. Visitation will be 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Park City Baptist Church or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.



TOMPKINSVILLE — Edgar Smith Turner, 85, lifelong resident of Monroe County, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Bethelehem Cemetery in Monroe County. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
