Eliza Alice Dar
BOWLING GREEN – Eliza Alice Dar, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Barren County native was a waitress at the Burger Basket and attended Halls Chapel Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Willard Powell and Mary Martin Powell.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Dar of Bowling Green; one daughter, Becky McGee of Rockfield; one son, Ernest Davis and wife Rose of Bowling Green; one brother, Ray Powell and wife Ruth Ann of Glasgow; two sisters, Mary Belcher and husband Edwin of Bowling Green and Fannie Kinslow of Glasgow; a sister-in-law, Ruthie May Cardwell of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Powell, and a son-in-law, Bobby McGee.
Funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at 2 p.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

John Ray ‘Jimmie’ Gibbs
FOUNTAIN RUN — John Ray “Jimmie” Gibbs, 87, passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at NHC Health Care in Glasgow.
Funeral services for Jimmie Gibbs will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Hughes Funeral Chapel in Fountain Run. Brothers Terry Brooks and Tim Eaton will officiate. Interment will follow in Wood Cemetery in Barren County.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Wood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Stella Gibbs of Glasgow; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Ed Goodman of Fountain Run; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie Daryl and Bev Gibbs of Douglas, Ga.; grandsons, Kevin (Meshel) Goodman of Fountain Run, Josh (Sarah) Gibbs of Sugar Grove, N.C.; great-grandson, William Goodman; sister-in-law, Helen Bewley of Glasgow; nephews, Butch and Bobby Joe Gibbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ray and Dicie Adeline (Arnett) Gibbs.

Virginia Mae Hagan
GLASGOW – Virginia Mae Hagan, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Della Gibson Moss. Virginia was a homemaker and member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church, but attended the Temple Baptist Church in Glasgow.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons and their wives: Jimmy and Peggy Hagan, Howard Dean and Donna Hagan, all of Glasgow; six grandchildren: Scotty Hagan, Michele Nuchols, Christopher Hagan, Amy Reynolds, Sarah Melton and Greg Hagan; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Von Harper, Thressia Reece and Sylvia Acree, all of Edmonton; two brothers, L.C. and Neal Moss, both of Edmonton. She is also survived by two special friends, Emma and Danny.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hagan; one son, Gearld Hagan; one sister, Ruby Jessee; and one brother, Ferrell Moss.
Mrs. Judy W. Lewallen
Augusta, Ga. – Mrs. Judy W. Lewallen, 56, a devoted wife, mother, Gammie and loving sister went to be with our Lord and Savior on Dec. 30, 2009.
Judy was the wife of Junior Lewallen. She is cherished and loved by her family and will be missed dearly.
Her career in life was taking care of her family and she did it with passion and love. We are all so grateful to have been a part of her life. The family would like to thank the staff at The University Hospital Heart and Vascular Center. With special thanks to Michael and Gabriela for the care and compassion. We are eternally grateful to you both.
She is survived by her husband: Junior Lewallen of Augusta; daughters: Shawn (Peter) Chin of Augusta, Shannon (Chris) Gibson of Martinez; grandchildren: Alex and Ansley Gibson of Martinez; mother: Evelyn Wilson of Glasgow; siblings: Ruby Claywell of Glasgow, Darrell Wilson of Crawfordville, Ind., Carroll Wilson of Glasgow, Vivian Strange of Glasgow, Mark Wilson of Glasgow; nieces: Christie Bailey of Augusta, Carla McVean of Augusta; nephew: Alan (Leslie) Spence; great-nieces and nephews: Miranda McVean, Tyler and Aaron Spence. She leaves behind a host of loved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Brandon Fulmer officiating. Pallbearers will be Junior Lewallen, Peter Chin, Danny Neal, Ray Couture, Andy Dachenhausen and Johnny Glover.

She was the daughter of the late Alford and Rhoda Tally Beasley and wife of the late Ezra Taylor.

DUBRE – Roy Edward Wright, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Cumberland County Hospital.
He was a son of the late Jimmy Preston and Bercie Branham Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Capshaw.
