Charles Richard Ballard
GLASGOW — Charles Richard Ballard, 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at his residence.
A native of Barren County, he was a son of the Rev. Martin Ballard of Glasgow and the late Nina P. Vibbert Ballard. He was a farmer and a member of the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Sharon; 11 children: Judy McCluskey, Richard Anthony Ballard, Michelle Lester, Charles Jason Ballard, Joshua Ballard, Tracy Gravens, Kris Blakey, Jennifer Logsdon, Brandon Blakey, Cacayla Ballard and Trenton Ballard; six brothers: Amos Ballard, Teddy Ballard, Luke Ballard, Leonard Ballard, Joe Ballard and Johnny Ballard; four sisters: Mattie Pearl Childress, Zeba Thomas, Martha Coomer and Brenda Vincent; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Ballard; one brother, Frankie Ballard; and two infant sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Herbert Glover Sr.
GLASGOW — The Rev. Herbert Glover Sr., died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
Homecoming services will be at Hopewell Baptist Church today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. with burial in Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation continues until time of services today.
The family asks that non-flower tributes be made to St. Jude Children’s Foundation in honor of their late daughter, Cynthia Glover. Watts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Royce Bruton
GLASGOW — Royce Bruton, 60, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at his residence.
A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late James Elbert and Lennie Garrett Bruton. He was a former machinist at SKF in Glasgow and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Sheryl Anderson and husband, Robert, of Glasgow; one daughter, Wendy Bruton Arms and husband, Matt, of Columbia, Mo.; one son, Dusty Bruton of Bowling Green; three step-grandchildren: Afton Anderson, Kelsey Anderson and Creek Pace; one sister, Jean (Reggie) Frazier of Glasgow; four brothers: David (Joan) Bruton of Greensburg, Ind., Donald (Beverly) Bruton of Smiths Grove, Kenneth (Thelma) Bruton of Champaign, Ill., and Billy Bruton of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Vaudine O’Brien; and one brother, Douglas Bruton.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Donna Lee Hill
EDMONTON — Donna Lee Hill, 59, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Seaborn Brumley and Esther Brumley Grimes, of Edmonton, who survives.
Services will be private with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph.

BOWLING GREEN — Wanda Walker, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at the Magnolia Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green.
The Barren County native was the wife of the late Ray “Soup” Walker and daughter of the late Pete and Minnie Aspley.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 12, at T.W. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Scottsville.
Funeral service will be at noon Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Scottsville First United Methodist Church.
