GLASGOW — Richard Carroll Bartley

MOUNT JULIET, Tenn. – Richard Carroll Bartley, 69, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.

He was born and raised in Barren County, the son of the late Ralph R. and Clemma Baldock Bartley. Richard was a retired electrician where he had worked for the Grand Ole Opry and was also a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Bonnie; children, Renae Droege, Jeff Emmert, Jennie Emmert and Scott Emmert; brothers, Leroy, Larry, Lance, Lawrence and Gary Bartley; grandchildren, Jacquline, Brandi, Chelsi, Trey, Sarah and Chloe; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation with the family will be 1 to 3 pm Saturday prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

 

Paul Larry Jones

BOWLING GREEN  –  Paul Larry Jones, 64, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at his residence. He was the son of the late Eldon and Mable Reed Jones, and husband of Debbie Wheeler Jones, who survives.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Boiling Springs Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



Michael Wayne Parker

MUNFORDVILLE –Michael Wayne Parker, 58, of Munfordville, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital after a brief illness. 

The Louisville native was a son of the late Lewis and Betsy MaCaffey Parker.  He was a former crane operator and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Hall Parker; one daughter, Valerie Hall, of Louisville; one son, Charles Lewis Parker, of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Gordon Parker, of Tompkinsville, Hardin Parker, of Louisville, Lee Parker, of Munfordville; two sisters, Carrie Hutchinson, of Georgia, Sheila Horton, of Nebraska; five grandchildren, Desteny Marie Parker, Elizabeth Parker, Nolyn Hessig, Brennan Parker and Tyler Knott.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Parker.

A memorial service will be at noon Sunday at  Wilkerson Temple Methodist Church. There will be no visitation. Sego Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.



 Robert Van Wortie Wheeler II

SCOTTSVILLE – Robert Van Wortie Wheeler II, 88, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his residence in Scottsville.

 The Fountain Run native was the son of the late Robert Van Wortie Wheeler and Allie Young Rowland Wheeler and the husband of the late Mabra Geraldine Williams Wheeler. He was one of General Patton’s boys serving in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church serving as deacon, 2009 Scottsville Hero and member of Masonic Lodge #323.

Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his son, Robert Van Wortie Wheeler III, and his sister, Ina Goad.

He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Victoria Bramblett, of Fountain Run; two granddaughters, Shannon Burke and husband Patrick, and Rachel Carden and husband Billy Bob; his brother, Barton Wheeler and wife Libby, of Bartow, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren, his little fellows, Rachel, Cal, and Wheeler Burke, and Eliza, Gus, Willow, Lila Pearl, and Will Carden.

Visitation is in progress at T.W. Crow and Son Funeral Home and will continue Thursday until the funeral.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the funeral home, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.

LOUISVILLE – Wanda Lee (Pullen) Cox, 67, died Feb. 25, 2013. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.



BOWLING GREEN – Maribeth Siler, 87, formerly of Peoria, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Magnolia Village, Bowling Green. Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville, Ill. Funeral services will follow the visitation with burial in Biggsville Cemetery in Biggsville, Ill. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Glasgow, assisted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or to an organization of the donor’s choice.



GLASGOW – Edna Mae Stone, 83, of Glasgow, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
