GLASGOW — Lida J. Costello

SCOTTSVILLE – Lida J. Costello, 86, of Scottsville, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

The Burkesville native was a daughter of the late James McMurtrey Miller and Ruth Mae Davidson Miller and wife of the late Frank Earl Costello.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Brother Danny Patrick officiating and burial in Hickory Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Zelma Mae Hale

TOMPKINSVILLE – Zelma Mae Hale, 87, Tompkinsville, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center.

Zelma was born in Tompkinsville, a daughter of the late Lucy (Muse) and Tom Gearlds.

She married Eugene Hale, who precedes her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1p.m. on Wednesday with Brother Gary Emberton officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Neal Cemetery.



Billy Dee Meador

LOUISVILLE – Billy Dee Meador, died Monday, March, 4, 2013, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

He was the son of the late Ira Lee Meador and Pearl Barger Meador .

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Gilliam Meador.  

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Strode Funeral Home, Scottsville Chapel, and after 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Union United Methodist Church in Scottsville.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with burial at Mount Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.



Mary Elizabeth Sacrey

BOWLING GREEN – Mary Elizabeth Sacrey, 92, of Bowling Green, died peacefully Saturday morning, March 2, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Henry Bruggensmith and Christine Web Bruggensmith of Louisville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Sacrey (manager of A&P Grocery Store, Bowling Green), whom she married on Thanksgiving Day 1937.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Mary was very involved in the Lioness Club and served as President of the local chapter of 1955.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Dr. James Bramlett Sacrey Jr. and wife Mollie Sacrey, of Geneva, Ill., Emmett Louis Sacrey and wife Debra Sacrey, of Houston, Texas, Martha Sacrey Madison, of Bowling Green and William Edward Sacrey, and wife Kathy Sacrey, of Glasgow.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be conducted at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, Tuesday, March 5, 2013, from 6 till 8 p.m. and from 11 to 12 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit.

Funeral Mass is noon Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery.



Magdalene ‘Mag Turner’ Piercy VanDuyn

EDMONTON – Magdalene “Mag Turner” Piercy VanDuyn, 72, of Edmonton, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.  

She was the daughter of the late Paul and Lizzie Jewell Gibson Piercy. She was a former cook for Metcalfe County School System and member of the Winfreys Chapel Methodist Church.  

She is survived by one brother, David Piercy and wife Brenda, of Edmonton; one sister, Geneva Hurt and husband J.B., of Edmonton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, James Piercy.

Funeral services will be 11a.m. Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Mann Cemetery.  Visitation after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  

GLASGOW — Carol Jean Berry, 80, of Glasgow, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at NHC Health Care Facility. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

HORSE CAVE — Lester “Leck” Corum, 87, of Horse Cave, formerly of Bonnieville, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hart County Health Care Center in Horse Cave. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, with military honors.



GLASGOW — Virginia Ann Eubank, 76, Glasgow, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at NHC Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Eubank Family Cemetery.



EDMONTON — Nathanual Wayne (Nig) Lester, 83, of Edmonton and formerly of Willow Shade, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his daughter’s home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in Summer Shade Cemetery. Donations may be made to Summer Shade Fire Department in care of the funeral home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY 42166.
