GLASGOW —
Elvin Earl Brummett
TOMPKINSVILLE – Elvin Earl Brummett, 75, of Tompkinsville, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.
He was born in Monroe County, on June 19, 1937, to the late Joe Sam Brummett and Gracie Davis Brummett. He was a retired auto mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one son, Billy Brummett, of Indiana; one sister, Jewell Higgenbotham, of Indiana; special friends, John and Janie Hurt, of Tompkinsville; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Raymond Brummett, and four sisters, Stella, Bonnie, Adis and Maxie.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Mount Poland Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mamie Rich Ford
TOMPKINSVILLE – Mamie Rich Ford, 93, of Tompkinsville, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
She was the wife of the late Price Ford and the daughter of the late Millard Bedford Rich and Louella Grace Rich.
Visitation will be Wednesday after 5 p.m. until service time on Friday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Mount Poland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mount Poland Cemetery.
Madelle Moore King
RED BOILING SPRINGS, Tenn. – Madelle Moore King, 80, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at her home.
Madelle was born in Tompkinsville Sept. 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Esie (Grimsley) and Erastus Moore. On Dec. 26, 1954, she married John King, who preceded her in death in 2010.
She worked as a bank teller at People's Bank for 40 years and was a member of Mount Poland Baptist Church.
Madelle is survived by two sons, Joel (Connie) King, of Tompkinsville, and Mark (Vickie) King, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; and two grandsons, Justin and Ethan King.
Funeral services will be at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, with Taylor Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 12:30 until 9 p.m. and Thursday 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Poland Cemetery.
J.D. Mabe
BONNIEVILLE – J.D. Mabe, 77, of Bonnieville, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Caverna Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Dellard and Ona Steele Mabe.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Burba Mabe.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home, with Brother Earl Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Priddy Cemetery at Lone Star. Visitation is in progress and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
