GLASGOW — Edna Bishop

GLASGOW — Edna Elizabeth Tyree Bishop, 94, Glasgow, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Hospice House in Bowling Green.

She was a retired employee of Bertram-Jolly Cleaners in Glasgow and a member of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Bishop (Anice), of Park City, and John T. Bishop, of Portland (Louisville); two granddaughters, Kacie Reeves (Josh), of Glasgow, and Alyssa Simpson (Zach), of Russellville; one sister, Emma “Midge” Ives, of Valley Station (Louisville); several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Emma Kingery Tyree; and her husband of 60 years, Harold L. Bishop.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, 801 North Race St., Glasgow, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Connie Jones

GLASGOW — Constance Lee “Connie” Jones, 68, Glasgow, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at her residence. A daughter of the late John Winford and Lou Annie Powell Jones, she was a former nurse aide at Glasgow State Hospital and loved caring for others.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Jones, of Cave City, Raymond Len Jones, of Glasgow, and James Jones (Jennifer), of Allen County; eight grandchildren, Lacie Jones, Arianna Jones, Brittany Jones, Taylor Jones, Stephanie Jones, Alex Jones, Ronnie Jones and Eric Jones; one brother, Larry Wayne Jones, of Edmonton; one sister, Mary Lucille Cash, of Cave City; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Melvin Jones and Ronnie Jones.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Elizabeth Moerlien

EDMONTON — Elizabeth Irene Moerlien, 78, of Edmonton, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She is survived by her husband, James Moerlien, of Edmonton; one sister, Evelyn Tettor, of Illinois.

Her parents, Edgar and Ruby Adams Mangrum; one brother, Edward Lee Mangrum, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Garrett Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time.



Gay Mundy

MUNFORDVILLE — Gay Mundy, 55, of Munfordville, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Mundy and the late Eunice Haskins Mundy.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Allen Seminary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. William Dice and Rev. Standford Dixon officiating. Interment will be at Allen Seminary Cemetery in Hardyville.

Memorial donations may be made to Brooks Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Brooks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
