Jack D. Carver
MUNFORDVILLE — Jack D. Carver, 64, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at his residence in Munfordville.
He was owner of Green River Hill Grocery and was retired from SKF. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Rio Verde Masonic Lodge No. 698 F&AM;, served on the Timberlake Cemetery Board of Directors, was a board member of the Linwood Fire Department and a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. He was the son of the late D.L. Carver and the late Beatrice Price Carver.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Kidd Carver; one son: Danny Rhea Carver (Amy), Munfordville; one daughter: Candy Gracy (Bruce), Glasgow; two sisters: Connie Logsdon, Munfordville, and Brenda West, Pleasant Shade, Tenn.; two brothers: Eugene Carver, Munfordville, and Gary L. Carver, Munfordville; and four grandchildren: Alex Berry, Tyler Carver, Averi Gray and Taylen Gray.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ferrell Carver.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Monday), at Boiling Springs Baptist Church with interment at Timberlake Cemetery, Munfordville. A masonic service was conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday at Brooks Funeral Home with Rio Verde Masonic Lodge 698 F&AM.;

Jacob Dee Goodman
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Jacob Dee Goodman, 84, died on Feb. 5, 2010, in Delray Beach, Fla.
He was born on March 24, 1925, in Dry Fork, Ky., the son of the late Riley Wilson Goodman and Eva Lewis Goodman. He was the husband of the late Colleen Keys Goodman. He was a retired employee of National Cash Register Co.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Goodman, and son, Stephen Goodman, both of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews locally.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Lewis Goodman, Bryan Goodman, Jimmie Goodman, Paul Goodman, and Sewell Goodman; and sisters, Frances Goodman Duff, Elizabeth Goodman Taylor, Mary Jane Goodman, Maggie Goodman Morrison and Kathleen Goodman Thomerson.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be held in Florida.
Opal Goode Holmes
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Opal Goode Holmes, born Jan. 13, 1917, in Glasgow, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Manzano Del Sol in Albuquerque, N.M.
She leaves behind her daughter, Rita Dauzat of Albuquerque; and grandson, Michael Dauzat of Nevada.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Manzano Del Sol, 5201 Roma Avenue NE. Opal will be interred in Glasgow and laid to rest near her family and beloved husband, Alfred.

James Leroy Whittle
SMITHS GROVE — James Leroy Whittle, 62, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
He was the son of the late Leroy Whittle and Kathleen Wilson Watt.
He was the owner of Econo Signs, a member of the Church of Christ, a member of the American Legion and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Viet Nam. He loved horse racing and fishing and was a co-founder of Econo Signs in 1984.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Donna Cornell Whittle;one son: Mike Whittle and wife Sheri of Bowling Green; two daughters: Sonya Dishon and husband Jason of Smiths Grove, and Jeanette Shelton and husband Chris of Smiths Grove; one sister: Linda Jako and husband Henry of Hopkinsville; and nine grandchildren: Makenna Dishon, Makenzie Dishon, James Thomas Dishon, Makayla Dishon, Colbey Shelton, Seth Shelton, Caden Whittle, Carter Whittle and Ella Whittle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Whittle.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 11:30 a.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels, Inc., Lovers Lane Chapel, Bowling Green, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
