GLASGOW — David Brown

GLASGOW — David Brown, 45, of Glasgow, died Saturday, July 10, at U of L Hospital in Louisville.  

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.



Susan Elaine Davis

GLASGOW — Susan Elaine Davis, 43, of Glasgow, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at home, after a hard-fought battle with cancer (melanoma).

 Susan was born on Jan. 4, 1967, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.  She was a 1985 graduate of Barren County High School; she had attended Western Kentucky University, was a member of the Christian faith and attended the Glenview Christian Church.

She is the daughter of Ken and Jerri (Blazejewski) Davis, who survive.  Also surviving is her brother, David Davis, his wife Karen, and their children, Rachel and Harrison, of Glasgow; her sister, Sandy Davis of Louisville; her brother, Jonathan Davis, his wife Leslie, and their daughter Lettia, of Horse Cave; her sister, Jennifer Fields, her husband, Jason and their children, Jessica, Jaden and Jenson, of Glasgow.

 A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Glenview Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  

Expressions of sympathy in Susan’s memory may be made to T.J. Samson Hospice or Glenview Christian Church Building Fund. The family is being assisted by Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Frank Hampton

PARK CITY — Frank Hampton died Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Glasgow.

He was born in Park City, the son of the late Jessie Vechel Hampton and Eula Undine Poynter Hampton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gay Toohey Hampton; and three brothers: Dick, Donald and Gano Hampton.

He was a self-employed plumber and electrician.

Survivors include one son: James David Hampton of Hardyville; four sisters: Lillie Marie Hampton of Chalybeate, Rosetta Lewis (Albert) of Cave City, Ruth Etta Dehart (James) of Cave City, and Mary Frances Pedigo (Wayne) of Cave City; and four grandchildren: Dusty Hampton, Chasity Hampton, Casey Hampton and Aaron Hampton.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the funeral home.

Steve Meece

TOMPKINSVILLE — Steve Meece, 52, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at his home.

He was the son of the late Virgil “Bill” Willard Meece and Ree Turner Meece, of Tompkinsville, who survives.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in Ebenezer cemetery.



Frank J. Trobaugh

CAVE CITY — Frank J. Trobaugh, 80, Cave City, formerly of Moline, Ill., passed away at his home on Saturday, July 10, 2010.  

He was born April 27, 1930, in Rushville, Ill., to the late Thomas Franklin Trobaugh and Hazel Spires Trobaugh-Mandrell. He married the former Geraldine “Geri” Lea Hughes on Nov. 16, 1951.

He was a U.S. Army paratrooper veteran out of Fort Campbell, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Caterpillar for three years before going to John Deere Plow and Planter Works in Moline, Ill., for 11 years. He then transferred to and retired from John Deere Davenport Works after 17 years.

Frank was a reflexologist for many years, a member of American Legion and the Moose Club in East Moline. For approximately 30 years, he was a musician who sang and played in local bands. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved watching cartoons with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine “Geri” Hughes, Cave City; two daughters: Brenda Shirley (Wayne), Glasgow, and Penny Hathaway (Slim), Cave City; two sons: Darrell Trobaugh (Colleen), Moline, Ill., and Wendell Trobaugh, Cave City; a sister: Betty Salter (Don) Bartonville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Dale Trobaugh; and a sister, Ruby Mullens.

Visitation at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 13. Mr. Trobaugh will then be transported to Esterdahl Mortuary in Moline, Ill., for final arrangements.
