Preventing school shootings should start at home

GLASGOW —

With the recent Hart County High School student who was found carrying a gun at school, the question of student safety entered my mind.

While there is certainly no evidence that this young man had the intentions of harming anyone, there was a potential for danger. In the wake of the Newtown school shooting, and incidents like it that are becoming all too common, I wondered how do we keep children safe at school?
